Anyone: “Tell me you’re a Star Wars fan without telling me you’re a Star Wars fan.”

PhineasFreakaZoid: “I HATE Star Wars!!

NFL draft is at the end of April.

That explains it. Will be there Fri. Sat. Sun. of draft weekend.
Room rates are high AF in April.

Staying at Harrah’s at the end of the month and it’s going to average $200+ Per night.

At Harrah’s.

I’ve stayed a weekend at Caesar’s for much less. Not sure what’s going on.

Was Paris empty?

No, not really. I was told that the crowds were light and that about half the people were French, coming in before the start of the peak season. The Louvre was fricking packed, and people were very rude and pushy.
Ok, so I'm back.

U.K. requirements are to be vaccinated and fill out a passenger locator form. That's it. Masks are recommended in certain settings, but not required.

France: As of now, you have to have two shots and a booster; Masks are required on public transport and medical settings. Elsewhere, just recommended. It was easy to get a Covid Pass (Pass Sanitaire), but that program is ending in a week.

I worried and worried over this for weeks, but once there, it really wasn't a big deal. I lost maybe a total of an hour getting the covid pass and the pre-departure test. Well worth it in my opinion to get to go and do the things I did.

Return to US, you still need a negative test taken the day before you travel.

This will all probably be different in a month.

I will sum up my trip with photos and such later this week.

I know people bitching about how expensive it is to fill up their rental car while they are on a week long family ski vacation in Vail.

Checking in from London Stadium.

Sitting 40 rows up about 5 yards left of center line. Nice seats.
Sitting in a London Pub.

People are PISSED That wasn’t called a hand ball.

So, it’s almost 24 hours later and the goddamn hotel didn’t have my room ready this morning. So I went out, took the tube, and looked at shite…Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Eye, etc. Westminster Abbey was really cool.

Then I hit a wall. Came back to the hotel and the room still wasn’t/isn’t ready. (“Check in is at 3, sir” :banghead:). So I went to the bar, sat in a chair, and promptly crashed. Woke up about 40 minutes later to some 30something Brits giving me the business. “Wakey wakey” “Oh look, he’s about to fall over”.

But I didn’t get mad. I owned it and we all had a laugh. No biggie.

Still waiting. Need just a couple hours sleep, then I’ll go hit a pub for some football and grub.

Others suggest no more than 9 months can elapse between vaccination and booster (which makes no sense)

I’m 9 months 2 weeks.

That’s why I’m concerned.

I’ll find out next week.
Staying in Kensington. London Stadium is a 40 minute cab ride away. Ought to be fun getting back after the match.

If I can bring my big camera, I’ll take some pics and post them.

I don’t guess I should wear my Man City gear?

About to head out to London/Paris

BTR-ATL/ATL-LHR

CDG-ATL/ATL-BTR

I have both shots plus the booster; Negative PCR test (just in case...I know it's not required any more).

UK is pretty open now. Of course you need the vaccines and to fill out a few forms.

France is a bit muddled. The vaccine guidelines are either very stupid and arbitrary, or are severely screwed up in the translation from French to English. I may not be able to get in depending on which case it is. If not, I'll just stay in London a few days longer. I'm counting on the Tour Director to walk the group through.

I will report back to this group, but I imagine the rules will change not longer after I return. It's almost a daily/weekly thing.

Cheerio and Bon Voyagee (said in Bugs Bunny accent)
City gonna piss this thing away.

This is “Typical City” as long as Pep has been in charge.

Park the bus, get two or three transitions and maybe 5 quality minutes of possession each half. If you can withstand the onslaught, you’ve got a great chance to get a result.
My biggest question mark is this:

In football, during a kickoff, once the ball goes 10 yards it is a live ball able to be recovered by the kicking team up to but not including the goal line. In other words, if the kicking team recovers the ball 1mm short of the goal line, they have first and goal right there.

Why can't they recover the ball in the end zone for a touch down? I remember jumping out of my skin one time because an LSU returner just let the ball lay in the end zone without picking it up. I was going out of my mind. "Oh My God!!!! They are going to recover it for a TD!!!!!" Nope. Touch back. :banghead:

I found it rather easy to pick up.

France no longer requires a negative test to enter and stay. It is literally changing day by day.

I thought it was a good episode.

Elsa is getting better looking with each episode. On that horse with the new Comanche duds, wind blowing in her hair…

Kind of reminds me of Khaleesi:

Lightning with the Golden Hair, Killer of Buffalo, Breaker of Daddy’s Chains…
