Had a discussion yesterday about who is the better athlete: Lebron James or Bo Jackson. My buddy said Bo because he was a bonefide all star in two sports. I said Lebron because
1) I think he could be an an all pro in the NFL
2) I don't have to judge only on accomplishments
3) personally, I think he's the best in basketball ever.

Thoughts?

I'll take Jordan over Lebron but Bo could do it all.

so your buddy comes to the argument with facts and you come with stupid thoughts that make you feel warm and fuzzy. Typical liberal agenda bullshite from a "teacher"

Lebron has 50 pounds of muscle and 7 inches of height on Deion.

Obviously Bo was an all star in both sports. He was a 1 time all star in both. 0 MVP's, career .250 BA.

Lebron is a 9 time all star and 3 (about to be 4) time MVP and is 28. Football wise he is Calvin Johnson but bigger. You're telling me the dude couldnt be an all pro WR/TE?

Do you suck at being funny or are you just an asshat?

My point was that accomplishments don't always tell the whole story. Is Derek Fisher better than Stockton? And to argue for Bo only on accomplishment is tough because his career was so short.

I'm not even going to argue...Bo was the best athlete this planet has ever seen. If you saw him play you would know/agree. That is my input.

There is no way you have read up on or watched videos about Bo and make this thread.

so you want to win an argument based on your feelings rather than objective figures? You sound like a reasonable person Glad you "think" Lebron could be All-Pro in the NFL.

I don't think Lebron would be in the top 5 as overall greatest athlete, Bo Jackson would.

Jim Thorpe. This thread has been discussed before. Don't use the word "ever" or you have to look at athletes who lived before TV.

Lebron shouldn't even be top50

If we're talking "freaks of nature due to massive size athleticism", then LBJ would be right up at the top with guys like Shaq, Kemp, Durant, etc etc

As far as this thread goes, simply the "best athlete", there are a shitload of guys in the NBA who are above Lebron in pure athleticism. A guy like Nate Robinson would probably be very high on the current list.

I'm telling you he may get lit up one time and have gator arms for the rest of his career. There's a reason not every track star is an all pro running back/cornerback. Physical attributes, while they help, do not guarantee success in football, particularly in the NFL.
