TackySweater is the 16 year old version of SteelerBravesDawg

Just get Burrow and Chase away from that organization, please. The more I read about how the Bengals operate, the better the Saints look.

Bengals front office seems more interested in winning contract negotiations with their players than winning football games.

Burrow said Hendrickson needs to be paid by the Bengals. Why did you leave that out?
They haven’t done what Burrow asked.
If they signed Hendrickson to his "market value" then they are going to be at like 60% of their cap with just 4 players.
They needed to cut ties with Higgins or Chase. It isn't some easy decision, but you can't have 3 players taking up 45% of the cash and have them all be "skill" guys

They literally just signed both. They're not going anywhere in the next 3-4 years.

I think it has to do with the Aaron Hernandez's estate suing the Pats for his money

Stewart is already raw and all potential. He needs all the practice, reps, and coaching he can get. So this isn’t an ideal situation for either side.

Damn maybe the bengals should have signed chase a year earlier like he wanted and wouldn't have had to pay him even more for dragging their feet.
Also it is weird as hell that Hendrickson is an elite DE and both teams that have had him refuse to pay him market value.

That's a lot better than the other team in Ohio. The Browns have 2 players accounting for 41% of their cap space. One of which isn't going to play for them and the other is on defense.

Doesn't this guy have a history of issues....maybe the team wants to mitigate that risk.... all he has to go is not be stupid and the language doesn't matter.....
......nevermind i see that folly of that logic.....

Gonna let Hendrickson walk for a dude that had 4.5 sacks in 3 years in college. Makes perfect sense.

Depends on the players. If you are paying a QB, a LT and a DE 40% those are 3 premium positions
If you are paying 2 WRs and a safety, you have problems

If this language is uncommon or it's never been put in a contract before, the Bungles should have told the player this before they drafted and allow him the opportunity to "opt out" of being drafted at that spot.
I can understand such language if the player has had some off the field incidents while in college or high school. But, this is something that the team and player should be required to agree to before the player is drafted.
Default language in contracts is NOT uncommon and doesn't necessarily have to be related to bad behavior. Never heard of players having contracts that prohibited them from playing other sports during the offseason or riding motorcycles?
Remember a few months ago when people were questioning about how Deshaun Watson reinjured his Achilles and people were speculating about whether it would give the Browns a way to void the rest of his contract if he wasn't following team doctor's rehab protocol or engaging in activities he wasn't supposed to have been doing? Similar type of clause.
The new twist here is that the Bengals offer has clause that allows them to void the entire remainder of the contract's guarantees if he commits a default. Previously the Bengals contracts only gave them the option to void guarantees in the year that the violation occurred.

Not defending the Bengals, because this sounds chicken shite.
But don't teams have to put that contract money in escrow when the contract is signed?
The Bengals don't have a huge company behind them. The team is literally the family business.
If they can't put up the money, they should sell out to someone who can.

17th pick of the draft is like a $20 mil contract. If they don't have that they'd be out of the league by now.
Posted on 6/11/25 at 4:03 pm to saintsfan22
That's added to Burrow and the WRs and whatever they would pay Trey.
I'm just wondering if it's a possibility.

It’s interesting that the agent/agency representing him is small time. The agent got into the business by buddying up to the Cook running back brothers.
The only other client of note is JK Dobbins. The rest of the client list is small, and consists of recent 7th round picks and undrafted players. Half probably wont make a roster, the others are practice squad types.
Shemar Stewart is by far his biggest client. The modern CBA is structured to make rookie contracts the easiest multi-million / multi-year deals in professional sports. It takes both an inept front office and an inexperienced agent for something so simple to blow up this big.
