Pretty much. If you're fan of two schools in all sports then that's fine, if you're selective then obviously that's fricked up.
Exactly.
All of the North Carolina and Duke basketball fans but LSU football fans are dumb.

I bet there are a shitload of SEC football/ACC basketball fans in the south.

I can't speak for TD, but if you are a fan of different schools in different sports you are a bandwagon puss, unless you have degrees from both or some kind of family connection to one if you didn't go there. Still you should be a fan of each school in all sports. If you are a Duke grad you should be a Duke fan in FB even though they suck.

Damnit, i just said basically the same thing, though this is phrased much better

Fan of LSU football AND Alabama football
ETA: From Baton Rouge and grew up going to LSU football games but I've always loved Alabama because my big brother went there, and now I'm going next year so I just root for both. LSU is still my favorite when they play each other though

Is the same as being a Laker, Yankee and Cowboy fan. Front runner, well except for the Cowboys, but they are a traditional frontrunner/bandwagon team...

LSU student but my dad is a TCU grad and I went to high school in arlington, so I root for both teams but if they played each other of course I'd be 100% LSU
don't really see the problem with that

I'm having a debate with my friends who are all fans of one powerhouse football team (Bama) and another powerhouse basketball team (Duke)
Sounds like your friends are terrible sports fans and cheer for whichever teams win and are talked about a lot. They probably like the Patriots, and the Steelers, and are about to become Heat fans as well

grew up rooting for all UNC sports my mom went there same as my cousins and uncle, Dad grew up 10mins from campus and grandfather was a janitor at UNC. I was also born right off Ft Bragg.
Went to WVU so thats my school and root for them no matter what, it was lots of fun being the only person in my family at the bowl game when WVU and UNC played rooting for WVU. I still root for UNC sports but im far from bandwagon

Such as being a fan of Bama in football and Duke in basketball
Read through the first page only, but that sounds bandwagon. I am an A&M fan first and foremost, but I agree with the hierarchy comment.
One of my friends went to Duke but both parents went to A&M, so he can root for A&M in football and Duke in basketball. I know people who went to LSU and Auburn undergrad and A&M postgrad and they have it undergrad then postgrad. I think the hierarchy should always have undergrad first. I don't see how you can root against your undergrad school unless you had a terrible experience or are a bandwagon bitch and your undergrad team isn't good.

From New Orleans - family from Louisiana for generations. Grew up die hard LSU fan, but family moved to South Mississippi. Still a HUGE LSU fan in all sports. Went to Miss. St. because of instate tuition.
Favorite team in all sports: LSU
Second favorite team: MSU
My rule is that I pull for the team that a win benefits the most. If it is a toss-up, LSU gets the nod. Obviously, I cheer like crazy for State every other game.

This has been discussed before.
In my particular case, I root for both Michigan State and Florida in BOTH (and I emphasize both) football and bb. I grew up Florida fan, and currently attend MSU so there at least is a connection.

I know this chick that claims to be a fan of Bama and UGA. It annoys the piss out of me how she just switches back and forth depending on who's having the better season.

I go to the College of Charleston so I root for the Cougars in basketball and baseball. I was raised in New Orleans as a LSU fan, so I like them in all sports. And I always liked the University of Washington so I root for them in all sports too (but they are definitely behind LSU and CoC).

Lots of annoying UNC and Duke fans like this.
I usually just ignore them if they ever try to talk about how awesome "their" team is. They don't get to have the right to shite talk.
It's fine if you want to be a fan of multiple schools, but you shouldn't be able to ever say "we" or be able to talk too much shite. You have no affiliation with the school, stop it.
Exceptions: 1) If you are from the area or state where the school is. Obviously the success of a college can be good for your state or community. 2) If you have an immediate relative who went to the school. Mom, dad, sister, brother. Maybe even less immediate relative if you were raised by them.
3) If you have a friend who competes for the school.
4) There may be a couple others I am missing.
But if you go to LSU, have no connection to UNC, and just root for them because they are good, and try to talk about how awesome "you" are, GFY

I am an LSU fan first and foremost... But I also pull for Oregon, only becuase the lady is a big time fan and being around her and having to hear and watch it kind of makes you get into them also. Hell I've lived in Washington state for 8 years now and it has only made me love my hometown teams more.
But if you are a Duke or UNC fan and you have never gone to that school or have an affiliation to it or lived near it, then I believe it is retarded.

White trash just loves wearing powder blue, so you'll see a lot of Walmart LSU fans also being Walmart UNC fans.

Went to Charleston this past weekend for my first time. You live in a wonderful place. Cherish it.

I'm an LSU fan and Valpo grad. I wish I cared about college basketball more... IMO it's not worth watching if I can't go to the games.
Maybe I'll watch them in the tournament if they win today.
