exactly. only way to do it. no violations for "who is having the better season" or any of those shenanigans. mine is uga first and kansas second. gotta go with the school you attended as first in the hierarchy IMO.

One of my best friends went to Duke. We go at it, even on football.

Oh yeah, Maryland 10, Duke 7 in men's lax this weekend. Scoreboard, you geeks.

I've met many Bama football fans/Duke basketball fans. I meant that I want to meet a Bama basketball fan/Duke football fan. They must experience a lot of agony

There are some UK basketball fans/LSU football fans on the SEC Rant. When LSU and UK play each other in BB they root for UK to win, and when they play each other in FB they root for LSU to win. Stupid.

Are your friends alums of Bama or Duke? And would they root against Bama if Duke and Bama played each other in BB?

That's how I am, but grew up in NC and root for Duke, and went to UCF post-grad (but I'd put UCF above Duke).

Was a freshman at LSU when we beat Duke, was a bit odd cheering for Redick his whole career then rooting against him in his last.

Don't make me start with women's lax smack talk, brah.

One of my good friends is a fan of Duke and Bama. He grew up from 0 to 15 in Tuscaloosa and his dad was a professor at Bama. He went to Duke undergrad.

It's not all that different than why I am on this site. There are plenty of reasons why people cheer for certain teams, but I do think it's important to not go for a single sport of that school, if you want to avoid being called a glory hunter.

weak as hell unless there are extenuating circumstances and you didn't just pick two bandwagon teams.

I guess you like the lakers, tiger woods, man U, the patriots, and probably the Indian cricket team as well right?

That a legit reason IMO.

I'm a Tar Heel fan in both football and basketball, have been my whole life, both my Dad and Grandpa went to UNC. I'm also a fan of Auburn football because my wife's uncles is the team physician.

That seems more on the LSU side of things. Pretty much all the UK fans that post here root for UK across the board (for better or worse).

Unless you have legit extenuating circumstances the two team stuff is stupid IMO. That said, there are other teams I like to watch play (and respect) but don't necessarily "root" for them and certainly wouldn't against UK.

*Exception -- you went to two different schools, and root for them in all sports. But none of this rooting for one school in football and another in basketball. That's gutless.

Pretty much. If you're fan of two schools in all sports then that's fine, if you're selective then obviously that's fricked up. Pats/Heat/Bama/Duke fan
