Don't confuse "love" with the want to comprehend & acknowedge all information available to us in order to make more informed decisions & opinions.

Cook has odds stacked against him based on previous information like this complied over years. With that said he looked very good last night

If Fournette had played the Saints he would still be running right now.

Easy chicken little. "Expert" NFL analysts said it over and over too. They literally pulled it out of thin air to have something to talk about IMHO

It was such a BS narrative too. At worst you could suggest his receiving skills were an unknown, but to say they were bad or an area of improvement was a joke.

I love Dalvin Cook and I didn't understand him falling in the draft. The dude can play. I think Fournette is better, but Cook will likely have better numbers because he plays on a functional offense with a multitude of weapons. Fournette is stuck in Jacksonville with Bortles, a near worthless QB. He's gonna get run into the ground there, while Cook is going to see space.

Can't compare being cook played a New Orleans saints defense. he also broke a 30 something yard run on the last play of the game to pad his stats.

I'll take Cook.

The lack of a passing game will hurt Fournette this season. Granted, I think their HC wants him to have 25-8 touches a game.

I think Cook will have better stats, but that won't necessarily mean he's the better back.

Fournette would lay waste to this Saints defense . Utter destruction. Houston has a solid front seven and Leonard broke their will . JJ ain't even talking shite. There is a Dalvin Cook every year. There is only one Leonard.

As an LSU and FSU fan, I've seen both of them play a lot both on TV and in person.
They are different backs.

But LF is the better talent. Not by much, but his size and athleticism is so rare.
He can run over them, make them miss, and run away from them. Has good patience in the hole, makes defenders miss, is able to catch out of the backfield, and once he gets more practice in pass protection, he could easily develop into a HOF player.
Comparison: Bo, Herschel, AP

Cook is a already a complete player, but his time at FSU gave him the opportunity to work on more of the game than LSU gave LF.
He has great speed and lateral movement, but he is more of a slasher than LF. He's a good pass catcher and blocker. And he only really has to work on blitz recognition and understanding the blocking schemes. I'm not sure he'd be able to get the short yardage pickups that LF will... simply because he isn't as big or as strong as LF.
Comparison: young Clinton Portis, Jamaal Charles

LF would be better on a running team.
And DC would be a better fit in a west coast type of offense.
But really, either one could perform at a high level in any offensive scheme.
Overall, if you needed a RB... you could choose either and get a damn good back.

LF

Cooks played against our defense who made Bradford and their white WR look like All-Pros.

Honestly? Cook was 21-94 until one final garbage time run when the Vikings were running out the clock.

It should also be noted, alongside the Saints porous defense, that Minnesota was running with an OL that had five new starters whom never took a snap together, including preseason, before last night. They played well and it should only help Dalvin Cook as the season progresses.

If we're just basing this off of one game then Kareem Hunt is better than both. Not even close.

He had 91 yards on 19 carried before that final drive (4.8 YPC). That's pretty good, but unless they weren't trying to stop him, I don't understand why the 33 yards were a garbage time run.

By that logic, Brees' 8/8 for 75 yards and a touchdown in their final drive down 3 scores with 4 minutes to go were basically garbage time statistics.

Well then Fournette's last carry was garbage time too, so now he had 25 carriers on 96 yards.

Either way, in 2016, Houston's rush defense gave up 4.0 YPC while New Orleans' run defense gave up 4.1 YPC.

So based on the 2016 rushing totals, Cook performed considerably better than Fournette; although obviously it's too early to judge.

4 whole yards huh?

We've now officially had the first person try to say the Saints defense is as good as Houston's and it only took 3 pages.
