We've now officially had the first person try to say the Saints defense is as good as Houston's and it only took 3 whole pages.
I didn't say their defense was as good as Houston's, I'm saying their rush defense last year was pretty close. 0.08 YPC difference in 2016.

Now passing defense was night and day, and Houston was WAY better, by about 1.3 YPA.

This isn't any better, to be honest. Keep parroting it and we will keep laughing.

Is this where you laugh and ignore rushing defense stats because they don't agree with you?

The hits never stop with that guy it's the product of someone who doesn't watch the games and is over reliant on the numbers. I.e. The worse kind of fan.

This is where I laugh at anyone who suggests the Saints defense is on par with the Texans.

2016 Defensive Rushing Statistics

12. Houston--1595 yards on 397 attempts (4.018 YPC)

15. New Orleans--1626 yards on 396 attempts (4.106 YPC)

That's a difference of 2.2 yards per 25 attempts. That's not a very big difference.

Rushing defense was neck and neck in 2016.

I know it's hard to wrap your brain around the fact, but give it a shot.

I'm sure you think the Redskins had a better offense than the Pats and a better passing game than the Falcons too.

I mean, the stats say it.

I already said they weren't on par, but we're specifically talking about rushing defense.

They were extremely close last year. Now passing defense was a completely different story. Houston was 2nd in YPA, whole New Orleans was 30th. A 1.3 yard difference.

Hmmm. This was a solid rebuttal. I thought strong had you, but you may have pulled an Ali off the ropes

I don't really care what part of defense we're talking. The Saints and Texans are not in the same conversation.

2015:
#10 in yards - 1597
4.1 yards/carry

2016:
#12 in yards - 1595
4.0 yards/carry

Essentially the same.

No those are my only two sports. The rest I don't bother to keep up with or post about. Others could learn a thing or two and do the board a courtesy and not post in threads about sports that that they don't keep up with it.

In 2016? I don't think so. You have to remember that Tom Brady missed 25% of the season.

So you ask for the stats and then argue with them when I give them to you?

ETA: I'm assuming you thought they would be better than they were and had to spin it when they were essentially identical.
