no, they didn't. this is a concept that a dude at a website unaffiliated with the school/program designed.

If they're going to do it, I think the helmets should probably be black, as well as their uniforms, and I also think all the players should have Leach on the nameplates on the back of their jerseys

I don't know what's worse, some fanboy with limited creative skills lazily (but completely) ripping off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers logo and calling it a "concept"...

or all of you thinking it's really official and will be done by Mississippi State (much less CAN be done by MS. State, esp. re: trademark issues).

Looks awesome, but that’s pretty obviously built off the Tampa Bay Bucs logo, so you won’t see this in a game without their permission (copyright infringement).

It would be cool if the Bucs allowed this for one game.

Meh, they don't have a copyright on the jolly roger flag, which is what this is, just in maroon. There's already been merchandise sold with a maroon jolly roger flag dating back to when Leach became their coach.

The dude who made the concept drawing in the OP, yeah def used the Bucs logo as his template, but if State were to do this, it would be pretty easy to avoid any copyright issues

They’re playing in Buccaneer’s stadium. I’m sure the front office was asked and approved of them using the helmet logo for this 1 game.

I can see the differences. But, 1. It's a concept and not an MSU design.
2. Despite the differences, it's still too similar to the NFL team's logo. Not a chance in hell, with as uptight as the NFL is on all registered trademarks and infringement issues.

NCAA licensing will balk quicker and louder than NFL or Bucs, they want every nickel due them in sales and you know whatever logo they use for Coach - it will sell.

College teams have worn one-off uniforms inspired by professional organizations before. It’s not unheard of. The University of Arkansas still sells their Cowboys one-off jerseys on the school’s official website.

You’re splitting hairs. Arkansas literally wore the Cowboys uniform with a Razorback logo and Arkansas’s colors, except for the gray Cowboys pants

It’s the same thing that this concept is suggesting that MSU do. They’re not going to do it, but what you’re suggesting isn’t the reason. It’s literally been done before.

Almost like the Cowboys owner has some sort of affiliation with Arkansas or something.

Does Robert Kraft have an affiliation with Mississippi State? They wore Patriots uniforms when they played UMASS at Gillette Stadium.

Both Arkansas and MSU still used their own logos

I like the concept of the helmet but I have a hard time seeing it being used.

and Arkansas very likely got permission from Jerry to do that. He likely welcomed it (maybe even suggested it) since he is an Arkansas grad, and the game was played at Jerry World
