Idk if that one counts.

He tugged the shite out of that breaking ball and his wrist probably immediately gave away that it was a breaking ball.

Idk if it’s near the same level as the other overlay posted.

Guys

The whole idea of those videos is to show it’s really hard to know what pitch is coming when the clip pauses

In the Nolan Ryan one, it just freezes when the balls overlap. But it’s not hard to identify the pitch before that point.

I got paid to throw a baseball. The technology today is insane. I'm so, so jealous of what these dudes have access, to.

Last couple years I've gone down this road with a buddy who owns a facility with the new tech.

Pedro in the early 2000s throwing 95-97 and making dudes look like shite?.

Tech today ramps that up, 3-4 mph. For every dude pumping 100 today, it's likely a 96ish Fastball in the 2001-20018 era.

The stories of Bobby Jenks hitting 104 on jugs guns In Today's world would have Bobby Jenks shooting rockets out his arse, which he would do, because he was a funny guy. RIP, Bobby...we miss you...

No one changes speeds anymore. It’s all about 100 mph two and four seam fastballs. That’s the modern game in a nutshell.

you mean like the people who think Nolan Ryan's fastball was actually 108 mph?

The same people that think Mickey Mantle hit balls 600 feet even though since Statcast, nobody has come anywhere close to that.

The internet doesn't audibly chuckle much but this one got me pretty good..

how fricking stupid are you? seriously....how bad are your critical thinking skills?

is it really that hard to actually watch games or at least look at percentage of pitches used? I mean you sound exactly like john smoltz....a fricking idiot.

Yeah, hard to compare timeframes and eras based on different technologies to measure.

Exactly and that's an incredibly meteoric rise in velocity over that time period and I would love to see how it compares to other tangible athletic metrics (40 time, vertical jump, etc)

Where exactly are these improvements in velocity coming from in a relatively short period of time? Is it just through advanced training techniques? The pharmacy? Genetics?

It's somewhat freakish if these velo numbers are legitimate.

Players that played in the 90s and 00s say pitching is better now than when they played. And it was better in the 90s than it was in the 60s. It’s harder to hit now, that’s just a fact.
