BM should roll, although Alexandria pitched very well against Capt Shreve.
Rummel will have a tough go with STM, but could certainly win that.
Jesuit v Curtis should be a good one.
Catholic should roll HC.

Catholic would have to beat HC and Jesuit or Curtis, and Brother Martin would have to beat Alexandria and Rummel or St Thomas More, before Catholic and Brother Martin would even play each other.

quote:we have pitched it very well. Defense has been great. Offensively we have produced bad runners but no timely hits. Game 1 we hit it well, just right at them. Game 2 Shreve did a great job of keeping us off balance and also played clean defensively. Will need to produce more runs to beat a really good BM team. That has been or issue for three years, and against good or average pitching we do fine. Against very good or better pitchers we have been inconsistent with producing good at bats.
ll, although Alexandria pitched very well against Capt Shreve.

Not saying it’s going to happen but, in order for Barbe to win it all, they are gonna have to beat two really good baseball teams just to play in the finals. Dutchtown and either Zachary/Hahnville. Dutchtown has solid pitching. Zachary has a really good 1 and 2 pitchers and Hanhville can hit the ball. Gonna be two really good series either way.

Barbe MIGHT drop one game, but NOBODY will beat them in a 3 game series. Book it.

Anything can happen. Isn’t the semi and final only one game?
Barbe has won a lot of close games. It just takes one bad day. They should have won last year too.

The three biggest divisions are all best of 3 all the way through the finals.

True. But we are talking about THIS year. And when you are 37-1 and winning ALL the close games, there is something to be said for that.
Pretty sure they are 3 games series now, but not positive. So back to what I said, they could possibly drop one game to the other team's ace, but they are not losing a 3 game series in this non-select bracket.

I was looking at articles from the 90s and the way HS baseball has changed is crazy… teams used to play fewer games, no power ratings so district games meant EVERYTHING, no playoff series so we’d make fluke quarterfinal runs every now and then, they used to write articles about the NOLA public school teams and they used to pretend they were on the same level as every other district
I mean I guess what we have now is progress

No. Every round is 2/3.

I remember WM, Catholic, Barbe, Destrehan, Hahnville, Jesuit, Brother Martin, St. Amant, Shaw, Airline, and maybe Chalmette on those t shirts from State with the bats and the team names. Those are the ones that stick out in my head.
