The GT Am drivers are always fun to watch. That particular driver is a retired hedge fund manager.

Ill bet Dennis was PISSED when he came up to that corner and saw him just dicking around sideways in the middle of the track, lol

saw on twitter that AM have committed to Fernando and Lance in 2026...snot surprising, but was hoping baby Stroll would move on

Must mean Max has made his decision

In reality, was AM ever in the talks for Max? Newey isn't going to turn them around inside of a year and Max wants to be competitive from the start.

He probably had little intention of going to AM, but AM would have paid up. Good bargaining tool would be my thought. AM didnt have to be in any hurry for 2 drivers without other options.
I guess could also be argued Toto asked Papa Stroll to back out to not drive up the price. Who really knows.

These regs are engine dominant regs, making Newey less valuable to a team. People act like RB didn’t have Newey for the entire run of Mercedes dominance.

Perfect. As long as they race the whole weekend.

I can 2nd the not watching DTS. I watched the first 1-3 seasons and then after, haven’t finished one and didn’t even start this one.
I started watching F1 because of DTS so I'm grateful to the show because of that. But didn't enjoy the last season or two much because now knowing the sport better the drama that DTS overplays makes it harder to watch. Definitely a lot of roll your eyes moments when you actually understand the sport and know what's going on behind the scenes.

If anyone can fix a little flood damage fast, it's the Dutch.

Leave it...put off-road tires on them

They have five weeks to fix it and manage drainage better. Plenty of time.

That's atrocious. Are there any qualifications required to drive in this racing class?
Never mind. I have the answer.

GT only exists as (multiple) racing series because of rich people like the guy in the video. If it weren't for gentlemen drivers footing the bills, most of the GT and LMP2 grid would not exist.
That said, you still need a minimum of a bronze certification to race, but you or I could easily get that if we had enough money and free time. Gold and Platinum drivers are where the drivers get good. You'll have different categories racing at once. You'll have a Pro division made up of silver, gold or platinum, a pro-am that has a bronze driver thrown on the team, and an Am category with just silver and bronze drivers on the team. Those designations can vary from series to series, but that's a rough idea.

It may be wasted due to the chances of rain this weekend, but Pirelli is skipping a step in their tire choice this weekend. C1, C3, C4 will be the tyres. If the race is dry, it could add some interesting strategy choices...
