That may be true. But what about the car advertisers? They lose so many eyeballs since way less people see their car ads. And you lose fans who stop following sport. Eventually the new deal runs out. Then what.

Welp they are gonna lose a lot of US fans.
F1 has gotten too big for its own britches at this point. Netflix sent the sport into orbit with Americans, especially the female demographic.
Led to LV, H&M, Disney, etc all in the fray. Over-saturation is real.

Hopefully, some good news. FOM wants to keep USA access to F1TV regardless of tv deal.

What car advertisers? There are no commercials during the races.

Ads on the car. Costs lots of dollars to get on them

The NFL loses almost 1/3 of their audience when they broadcast exclusively on Amazon vs ESPN.
Liberty will kill audience growth and likely shrink the audience if they go behind such an exclusive paywall. Live viewership at venues would likely disappear because no one is carrying on on premises subscription for the races.

No question viewership will take a huge hit if F1 switches from ESPN to a paid app. And what I haven't heard anyone talking about is that I doubt they can maintain three US races after making it a niche TV viewing experience. I can't see DTS maintaining its momentum. A friend of mine who got into F1 a couple of years ago because of DTS, has already lost interest and hasn't even started watching the latest season. Race fans know that US race fandom is a very fragile thing.
Out of sight, out of mind.

I can 2nd the not watching DTS. I watched the first 1-3 seasons and then after, haven’t finished one and didn’t even start this one.

I don’t disagree with yall but the actual viewership numbers aren’t that great here. As popular as it is right now it’s still not a huge sport.

If F1 goes to Apple, will we get 4k instead of HD?

F1 will always be a niche sport in the US.

Would think we would for sure. Is sky sports F1 feed broadcast in 4K in the UK?

I'm so tired of this fragmented sports media landscape. Maybe I'm just getting older, but I kinda just want to watch whatever is on YTTV and if it's not, then oh well.
Maybe younger people just aren't bothered by any of this and that's why it keeps pushing forward, but the viewership numbers just don't seem to point to any of this being a good idea. I guess I just don't get it.

Thought this was a cool graphical representation of the season to date...

No way Russell and Max can survive each other...
Max and Kimi is the right choice for Merc

The other side of the coin is, George has at least had the balls to stand up to Max publicly. Max may just destroy Kimi like the rest of the RB2 drivers.
