Good post, but you’re wasting your time trying to have a discussion with Bucky.

Are the reds and pinks over saturated for anyone else?

Other channels appear fine but not FP1

He was on softs and Albon on mediums, but it still looks like he is just going to embarrass Alex. I hope there's not a real big gap between them.

Tax season has fricked me over. I’m just now 1) realizing we’re locked at FP1 2) it’s already after FP1

It's a long season. A DNS for Race 1 is OK.

We have four DNS for Race 1, and maybe more if more people join next week. Some people may not look at the F1 thread until the season has started, so I want to leave it open for one more week.

So what have we learned from FP1, which admittedly isn't nearly as informative as FP2 and FP3. Lots of hot takes I'm sure.

Sainz has been trying to downplay expectations, but Williams may very well be not only the 5th best team, but both Sainz and Albon may regularly finish ahead of Antonelli and Lawson, at least in the first few races. So maybe they have a chance to hang with the 3rd and 4th best teams in the constructors.

Aston Martin might still be hanging in there around P5.

All of the pundits had Williams, Aston Martin, Alpine and Haas ahead of VCARB. But Haas is looking bad so far, and VCARB may very well be ahead of Alpine. So far they are right there with Aston, so maybe they can fight for P6 like they were most of last season before the late drop.

Red Bull really is fricked. I'm not sure they finish top 3 in constructors this year.

Sucks. Bearman held it together so well at Saudi? You’d think he could practice without a major crash.

That was a very impressive debut. But he has only raced three times. These rooks are going to make mistakes. The good ones will settle down after a few races, but they will all be somewhat inconsistent throughout their 1st full season, which will definitely spice up the action.
