What's with all the Yuki meat riding around here?
Sainz should have been the choice, but there may have been old dynamics at play.
I wouldn't have minded seeing Bottas get that ride. He's a driver I still like and unfortunate to see him in such a shite box.
If RBR wants to see the world burn, they kick Checo out and pick up Ocon

Max has to be pissed he doesn’t have a number 2 protecting him like Bottas did for Hamilton

Yea, he’s so far back they can’t even leave him out to back it up after someone would pit

Didn't think about Bottas filling that seat. He clearly has all of the experience driving a top machine and being the #2 driver. He followed team orders like a champ even to his detriment. He would be an excellent fit.
Still bullish on Ric getting a ride for the second half of the season. Opens up VCarb for Lawson to dominate Yuki, further proving why Yuki shouldn't be on the top team. If Ric doesn't perform, makes it easier for Horner and RB to move on from at the end of the season. If Ric does perform, then its more likely Max will be less likely to move on from RB (if that is even a true possibility).

I love it when a plan comes together.
And I'll say it again this week, but Checco is a bottom 3 driver. Can't even give him credit for being middle of the road. He is doing less with more than anybody in history. I mean Lance Stroll looks better than Perez at this point.

he does like a ton of oversteer like max, id be curious to see if that's actually true.
I don't think checo likes it al all

I went from 1st to 13th in a span of two races.

I've been solid midfield all season. I made some overly optimistic calls for a few people and teams.

Lando getting a bad wrap here?

Posted on 7/8/24 at 12:55 pm to tylerlsu2008
I’m talking remainder of the season, which means only Red Bull mothership contracted drivers.
Next year I would prefer sainz, but TR days appeared to torpedo that. Hulk in that seat would be interesting, him and Max have helped each other out in the past. And they should be able to buy out the Audi contract.

I was solely listening to Lando's radio throughout the race,
I understand giving the driver the leeway to choose, but there was a lot going on, lots of drivers trying this and that, and they were feeding him the information, and I was thinking that no way I could process everything that they were giving him, drive the car, and make the timing decision of when to box, and what tires to choose.
So ultimately, I blame the strategist/engineer for their call.
That said, sitting in my recliner, when they said Hamilton on softs, Max on hards, the easy answer to me was Mediums.
Live and learn I guess.

Just looking at it it looks like Pitt Road and jefforize were the only ones to have McLaren finish 2nd. Three of us picked them 3rd. The majority had them 4th.
Three people had Lando picked for 3rd.
The two boldest moves came from 1999x and Mississippi Lebowski (one of the ones who picked Lando 3rd) who picked Logan Sargeant to come in 16th

You can check these kinds of questions at a glance on the Predictons page:

can’t imagine Checo makes it past the summer break
quote:
Sources have suggested that Red Bull has the right to terminate Perez’s contract if he falls more than 100 points behind Verstappen at key points of the championship – which are the summer break and the end of the season.
Right now, after another non-score at Silverstone, he is 137 points adrift and has just two races to get himself within that 10-point range if he is not to expose him to the risk of Red Bull electing to look at other options.
