No longer F1, but the Mazepin's have 114 million in properties seized in Italy. Thinking Haas dodged a bullet on this one.

All
New to watching F1 but fully addicted after watching all DtoS seasons.
Knowing the backstories of drivers etc makes it very interesting and fun to watch.
AGP was my first GP I watched every practice, qualifying and race.
So far and don't know how it will proceed but Qualifying I find way more exciting than the actual race.
Not sure if this is due to AGP being a boring circuit or was Ferrari JUST THAT GOOD?!?
Seemed the DRS zone in curve 3 was a wasted zone.
I hope future circuits allow for more tyre eatting racing maneuvering.
Just a novice first view.

Welcome to the sport, we are all novices. Albert Park has always been tricky and the new layout made it more flow-y with less braking zones for chicanes, which means less chance to attack. I think they tried to counter this with more DRS zones.
Ferrari is THAT GOOD this year but you will see as the season goes on, certain teams will be better on different tracks. Some races will favor those better at low downforce, high speed while other tracks will favor high downforce, low end performance. You will see jockeying among the mid-field teams, which is exciting.
Imola is next, Scuderia Ferrari's home race (more so than Monza later in year), so be prepared for red-fatigue like Bama football, UK basketball, etc. People you didn't even knew liked racing will suddenly be wearing red prancing horses shirt. I'm not an expert, but I believe Imola is very narrow, 1 DRS, and 1 passing opportunity. So likely a straight chalk race with qualifying being all the excitement again.

Appreciate the reply and looking forward to an exciting race in both the C WC and D WC!

IndyCar does the same thing. I think this started when these series both went back to a single tire supplier. IIRC, Firestone drove Goodyear out of IndyCar, and Michelin drove Goodyear out of F1. Michelin then had an epic battle with Bridgestone in F1. But then they both pulled out and it was a dark day when Pirelli signed up to be the single tire supplier of F1. They sucked when they became the sole supplier for World Superbike, and they suck as the sole supplier of F1.
Anyway, the idea of requiring two compounds is to bring attention to the tires in a series with a sole supplier. Otherwise, what's the benefit of supplying a series when the only attention you get is when something goes wrong?
If you want to see a major improvement in F1, bring back refueling and bring back Michelin and Bridgestone, the two best racing tire companies in the world, competing against each other.

This may have already been discussed, but here is a video on fuel pickup, fuel pumps, collector, and primary pumps. It's kind of painful and clumsy to watch, but at the end he shows the potential cause for RBR issues with pickup and "bubblization" of the fuel. RBR potentially had pressurization issues of the fuel tank/bladder.

That guy needs a better budget from F1 TV.

For those that listen to Missed Apex(which should be all of you
) they have an interview with Will Buxton today, it'll be broadcast live on their Youtube channel at 2:10pm CT but I'm sure they'll upload to Spotify/wherever later on.

Haven’t listened to one of their podcast yet, but the podcast name alone makes it worthy of a listen for me on my drive home.

I've started listening to a few other pods that posters have recommended here, but Missed Apex was the first and is still easily my favorite.
It's a great mix of regular folks just shootin' the shite, but also in depth analysis, technical discussion, interviews etc.

I figured I would take a stab at defining each track on the 2022 calendar in terms of the power vs downforce needs. I will use: extreme power power balanced downforce maximum downforce
Hopefully is useful for our new friend, when I started watching back in the dark ages it was one thing that mystified me as a kid. This are my opinions some go against conventional wisdom a bit.
1
Bahrain GP
Bahrain International Circuit Power track
2
Saudi Arabian GP
Jeddah Street Circuit Balanced with a lean toward power
3
Australian GP
Albert Park The old circuit was balanced this year it moved toward power but as it raced I would still say balanced due to the long sector 3 and the removal of the 4th DRS zone
4
Emilia Romagna GP
Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari High Downforce GTrack
5
Miami GP
Miami International Autodrome Downforce Track
6
Spanish GP
Circuit de Catalunya High Downforce Track
Watch who is fast in sector 3, they will likely be fast at Monaco
7
Monaco GP
Circuit de Monaco Extreme Downforce Track
8
Azerbaijan GP
Baku City Circuit Power Track
9
Canadian GP
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Power Track
10
British GP
Circuit Silverstone Downforce Track
11
Austrian GP
Red Bull Ring Balanced Track
12
French GP
Circuit Paul Ricard Balanced Track
13
Hungarian GP
Hungaroring Downforce Track
14
Belgian GP
Spa-Francorchamps Power Track
15
Dutch GP
Circuit Zandvoort Power Track
16
Italian GP
Autodromo Nazionale Monza Mother of all Power Tracks roughly 75% of the lap is full throttle
17
This was supposed to be Russia (Sochi) which is a Downforce Track but it may get replaced with Istanbul in Turkey which is also a downforce track partly due to temperatures making it hard to get tires up to temp at least that was an issue in the past
18
Singapore GP
Marina Bay Street Circuit Maximum Downforce
19
Japanese GP
Suzuka Circuit Balanced Track
20
United States GP
Circuit of the Americas Balanced Track
21
Mexican GP
Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Downforce Track
22
Brazilian GP
Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos Downforce Track
23
Abu Dhabi GP
Yas Marina Circuit Balanced Track
Keep in mind that this type of single metric evaluation gives an idea of which cars will be good at what tracks and how cars will be set up in general but it doesn't mean a high downforce track won't have a primary passing zone that doesn't favor significant power etc.

Thank you for the clarification, appreciate it

Would love to get your take on 2023 Vegas circuit, my initial guess is Monza type power. Already making plans for a balcony at Cosmo overlooking Blvd straight away

I have high hopes for Haas at Imola as the tracks mid speed corners seem to be in their wheelhouse.
The wildcard is with it being a sprint race they need to have the setup pretty much right off the truck. Only one practice prior to qualifying.

The white Countach is in the US, John Temerian with Curated out of Miami recently had this car in his dealership and sold it locally. The owner still allows him to bring it to various shows to display the car. John is impressively knowledgeable about vintage exotics, especially Lamborghinis.
Here's a link to John telling the story of the car, how they found it, etc.

If you're into exotics John's channel is a great follow, he's a walking encyclopedia on vintage exotics and has some great stories. His dealership recently sold Nigel Mansell's F40 as well.
