Would not have wanted to be Lewis in Monza last year if there was no halo.

I think there is even a higher chance it saved Grosjean in Bahrain 2020. Barrier splitting in the old days was almost certain death.

Schumacher would have been hit with his own wheel/tire just this past weekend.

It 100% did... The halo is what separated the barrier that he was able to go through, if not, his face would have smashed the barrier at 100+ mph

Ironically, after saving his life, the halo then almost killed him, as it made his exit from the cockpit more difficult as the fire threatened to consume him.

It's F1's 'duty' to continue racing in Saudi Arabia, says CEO Stefano Domenicali

quote:

Ahead of the missile attack on Friday, F1 had already received criticism for its decision to race in Saudi Arabia after the recent mass execution of 81 people in the Kingdom.

According to a statement on March 14 by the U.N.'s High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, 41 of the executions were Muslims from the Shiite minority in the country who had taken part in anti-government protests in 2011-12, calling for greater political participation.

F1 is a pure capitalist showcase. If the SJWs like Hamilton and Vettel can't draw the line at Saudi Arabia, they really need to STFU.

Yea Grosjean is decapitated without the halo.

Pretty nuts to think there's already been at least 3 or 4 instances when you can pretty much guarantee serious injury or even death without the halo over the past 3 or so seasons.

Won't know officially until next year's schedule. You have to think it will slate around the Austin/Mexico GP, but I could also see them pairing it with Canada/Miami.

I love a Vegas GP, but in the fall with direct competition with football (NFL and College) is a lot of competition.

I have seen multiple F1 writers say that it will be Thanksgiving weekend 2023, but as the poster above me said, nothing is official at this time.

With the race being Saturday night, FP1 and 2 would be on Thanksgiving itself. Not sure how popular that will be...but I will be watching.

It could also be a Sprint race which moves qualifying to Thanksgiving...

So Australia GP times.

If this runs on a Saturday then it has to be the first of a double/triple header.

That's a rather dumb start time if they are trying to pull more of the American viewing public.

Why the hell would they have a 1:00a start for the east coast for a US based race??

I call BS.
