Wrapping up drive to survive and was reminded about Mercedes’ throwing everything at Max/Red Bull. Wonder if they knew they’d be on the back foot and tried to win it while they knew they could.

They were likely developing the 2021 car all through the season as they were in the championship race which would impact the time and money available for the 2022 car.
What I find surprising is that RB is right at the front while having the same scenario as Merc last year. Guess Newey is just that good.

Merc brought upgrades much later than Red Bull. Red Bull I don’t think did much after the summer break.

You are going to win more than lose betting on Newey getting the aero right. The man dreams in CFD.
That said this year is a real head-scratcher. There was no way you could convince me after the real launches were revealed the RB18 and F1-75 would perform so similarly across a lap, even given the up/down through different sectors that reward different characteristics. After I saw the sidepod approach from Merc and RBR I figured Ferrari was screwed, no way Allison AND Newey both made a mistep.
I would like to see Merc's CFD and wind tunnel burn rate, I have a feeling it is concerning Toto at least until it gets adjusted again.

Turn 1 will be interesting.
Longest “straightaway” from 9 to 11?
The 11-12-13 turns are a secret for now because they are blocked by a building.
Kind of boring but will be big fast.

Do we have a date yet?
Rumor is Thanksgiving weekend.
Which means FP1/2 will be on Thanksgiving afternoon and night.
Quali on Black Friday night.
GP on Saturday night.

I'm actually comfortable seeing the halos now and I think they may have saved 2 drivers' lives in as many years I am 100% good with them.

How the hell is that course going to work? I know it’s likely thanksgiving weekend, but to block off that much of the strip for such a long time is insane and almost no way for them to charge for tickets in most areas. Plus, what are they going to do with all the homeless?

Make them track marshalls.

Vettel has been cleared to race in Australia.
Hulk glad to be out of that car.

2km straight in Vegas. That's a long arse straight for F1.

I mean I know they do street races in SG, Monoco, Baku, etc…. But Vegas is a different beast. Just don’t see how they logistically secure the strip with all of the hotels and pathways along it. I mean, you’re talking about 10k+ rooms just on that 3/4 mile run down it.
