You fricking jinxed him

I said a month ago Arozerena should be on the team. Why is Carpenter back to leading off when he can’t hit his weight? Wong is finally doing something, so might as well put him there.

6 game winning streak was fools gold at the trade deadline and screwed us.

The deadbeat reliever picked up last week already released. Fernandez takes his place.

I sure did. By far our most consistent reliever and who would have thought that as bad as he was last year.
The bigger issue is Lester now. He has been bad for a while now after a brief first 4 to 5 games of the season when he looked great. Looked like last night anytime they swung they hit the ball hard.
As competitive a guy as Lester is in that second inning looked like he actually quit. He looked to the bench like "when are you going to come get me" then mailed it in the next couple of batters. When he realized he wasn't coming out he got back into compete mode and finally got out of the inning.
But it's coming far to much the norm for Lester, He competes but labors. Very hard to watch him pitch.

I mean at this point what does it matter? They are who they are. They'll probably get on the playoffs with either the division or the wild card. Then what? Get slaughtered by the dodgers or have the braves knock us out in 4? I mean this team isn't winning anything major. They just don't have "it". They haven't since 16. I personally think it had something to do with most of that team being so young. They won and they just kinda relaxed.

Another whole run last night.

Lester regressing matters significantly IMHO. He's been pretty money in the playoffs. The playoff Lester of years past can win a playoff game 1-0. This Lester can't. Sure it was inevitable but we just hoped it would come later. It is here now unfortunately. To me that matters.

Today it was explained why he's not up and why lane thomas is not starting, while they put infielders who are not hitting into the OF.
Management does not want to bring him up to sit on the pine. They don't want at bats being taken away from Fowler and Martinez. You cannot make this shite up.
Also, they are already getting ready to bring back Bader, they claim he's seeign the ball right now, and he's close. LOLOL. They are bringing him back because he has a bobblehead night august 22nd.
Cardinal fans are fricked with Mo'ron and BDW as owner. They have no fricking clue, the guys who built this: Tony,Walt, and Luhnow are gone and Mo and ownership are getting exposed. ONly Randy Flores is doing his job with scouting side.

A former cubs killer. Let's hope he continues to crush in Wrigley unlike Daniel Murphy...who can apparently only do it as a visitor.
Can Lucroy pitch the 8th out of the bullpen?

Riveting 1-0 game.
So glad football is finally here.

Flaherty has quietly found his star potential self.

Sarah Langs Verified account @SlangsOnSports
Jack Flaherty is still 23 years old and just recorded his 5th career 10-K game.
That's 2nd-most by a Cards pitcher before turning 24 since at least 1908.
Most 10-K games before turning 24, Cardinals (since at least 1908):
Rick Ankiel: 6
Jack Flaherty: 5
Dizzy Dean: 4

Flaherty's upside is just so high. There are few things that would be more valuable for the Cardinals than for him to keep up what he's been doing for the past month or so. Just a beast when he's on.

Yea but at least Dodger stadium is only 35+% empty instead of 50+% like I expected. So that's a plus

Soon as Miller hit Seager I knew LA was walking that off. All they need is a little crease and they rally.

There is a 0.5% chance Carlos Martinez is on the team next year.

Talk about his career completely falling off a cliff.

Although the shitbirds
The cubs are VERY capable of a terrible week. If we can put together a killer couple of weeks tho we have a great chance. As this thread says, whole lotta meh in the NLC
