I love how the cardinals get me interested again and then score 6 runs over a 4 game stretch at home.

Nice 1 hitter for the series win. Shoulda swept but I'll take it.
Ozuna on base 5 times today with 5 RBI's for Memphis. Rejoining the team tomorrow.

The first time since 1988 that the Cards held the Cubs to 1 hit. A LOT of BAD Cub teams (especially in the 90s) all those games, hasn’t happened in over 30 years. WOW! Almost 600 games! Scored ONE ER the entire series.

Cubbies caught the Brewers at the right time, some of the same issues still prevalent though, Rizzo getting thrown out at home, Kemp booting a sure DP, but the Brewers are scuffling so bad it didn't matter.
One thing I liked is we moved runners and took an opposite field approach fairly consistently and cut down on the strikeouts. If we can continue that I'll feel a lot better.

I liked the part where Darvish didn't allow 300 runs.

Darvish's last 5 starts have all been good. I think he's finally gotten over the mental hurtles, cause his stuff is still legit. Dude's fastball is 97-98 and he throws several pitches that move, he just was not throwing strikes and tended to implode at the first hint of trouble.
Last year he would hide in the clubhouse and not come out for pregame because he was scared the fans would boo him.
He has taken steps to deal with that and quite honestly he's been the pitcher we were hoping for of late.

He walked two people all month in 30.2 IP. Huge improvement there.

And an ERA in the low 2's in that span, and that does not count yesterday where he walked none and gave up only one run thus, improving those numbers.

this cubs team is funny. damn near A+ at home, straight up F on the road.

Cubs fans have to be laughing at Cardinal management and fans right now.
They do nothing at deadline to help pitching or OF situation, have no one who can hit at top of lineup, and there is this:
Randy Arozarena(lead off hitter) 181 at bats, .381 average, .452 OBP, and he sits in Memphis. He might be playing better than anyone in AAA, and he stays in Memphis.
They bring up Lane Thomas, who was hitting in Memphis, and sit him while Infeilders play the outfield
Mo'ron and BDW are fricking idiots.

Why bring up thomas if you won't play him.
Guy is hitting the ball, play him. This infielders in the OF shite is stupid as it gets.

There is room on the 40 man now. And even if there weren't, Drew Robinson is still a person who exists in the Cardinals organization and hasn't been rocketed off to the moon or lit on fire yet.

I cannot grasp it. Can't trade O'Neill or Bader because we need the OFs, but when we have actual OFs available we put .280 OBP Tommy in the OF for the first time in his career.

We can't laugh at anybody given Joe's clueless handling of his pitchers and Theo's penchant for signing Tommy John rehabs for the pen, and now Kintzler, the one consistent reliever on the staff is on the injured list along with Contreras.

Don't forget Kimbrel being injured as well.
Closer by commitee? fricking strop?

He meant kimbrel, and the only things consistent about him are stupid stretches and poor outings

Yeah, I confused Kimbrel and Kintzler, but looks like Kintzler hurt himself last night too though, I guess I jinxed him.
I gotta admit, I have been less than impressed with Kimbrel. He has had maybe two clean innings in the 12 or 13 appearances he's had and he's had to abandoned his fastball in a few of them because they were crushing it. Maybe they can develop this Wick kid into a closer, but that's asking a lot this early in his development. I just don't trust Kimbrel honestsly. He's going to get every chance cause the Cubs paid him a huge amount....but unless it's just working off the rust...it ain't looking good.

I actually meant Kintzler, I misread a text from a friend and thought Kintzler was the one hurt. He is the one who has been the most consistently good in the Cub pen...easily.
