They should have a bet for that

But it would have made a big story if he can run the Preakness. Undefeated and Kentucky derby winner vs the original favorite

Folks are boing the Governor
Yeah that was pretty funny. He was saying "Kentucky has the most hospitable citizens in the country" over one of the loudest cascade of boos I've ever heard on live TV.

The call, while displeasing to the audience, is correct and it took real balls to make said call in such a high profile race.
If anything, it feels the opposite of rigged.
It’s not going to help the ratings going forward. It’d be a real bold play to have officials on for a call for such a huge long shot who wasn’t likely to be 2nd either.

Wondering why it wasn’t called then but was called today..

Any time you bump a winner there’s a chance several unaffected will benefit.
Well it's almost always a guarantee unless the 2nd place winner was the affected horse.
But in this case, I think my point is clear and stands. The official winner of this race 100% would not have been the official winner without the interference. I don't like that.

My mother just got hung up on by my because she said that the Democrats have ruined horse racing
I tried to explain that in any other situation the horse would’ve been taken down in a heartbeat. Will came very close to a catastrophic end there
Oh well. She also refuses to watch movies and has a “pantry of doom”
Crazy bat.

Omaha Beach won’t run in Baltimore. If anything he’d run in Belmont but doubt it. They’ll save him for Saratoga and Classic
The Classic is the more important race

I did see a lot of hate for him on social media and plans to boo posted this morning
The Governor of Kentucky has a box at Keeneland. He won't sit in it and all his staff that sits there gets booed instead. I feel bad for the staff but he has brought this mess on himself.

Looking over my party bets we just missed on a couple. Some had country house in a exacta with wrong horse 2nd place horse. Some had max sec. huge...big party bad idea

I think they are shooting for travers

This is one of those no win situations for everyone involved.
The best horse got disqualified and the least affected horse won. It was clearly a foul by the rules even though it didn’t affect the outcome

Folks, what you are missing is why the rule is in place.
No. What you’re missing is the rule is extremely flawed.
Anytime the biggest beneficiary from enforcement is a rule was not the primary party impacted by the rule being broken, it’s a bad rule.
The #1 horse was the one actually impeded with, and his race was ended when the impediment happened. #13 was also impeded with much more so when #7 drifted back inside.
The #20 horse was, at best, the 4th most affected by the infraction. He has to take 1 or 2 strides off of what his line would’ve been. And he’s rewarded with a win.

Best horse got DQ'd...so no Triple Crown this year.
Did they retire Omaha Beach?
Will he be healthy by Belmont?

Right, it doesn’t feel like sunshine and rainbows but it’s a common sense solution instead of having officials create a mythical placement for each horse every time it happens.
