Yes. By the end of Game 5 last year he was trying to sound excited but you could tell he wanted to get TF out of there and get a fat steak and a scotch.

“And Barnes will score and this game is tied...that is a disgusting act by Chris Taylor”

He showed great restraint. Nolan Ryan would have killed him

Imagine him running at someone like Jack Morris or Kevin Brown. They would've Hulk Hogan kicked him in the face with their spikes.

Did anyone see Pedro on the post-game show last night? He's a funny-looking puffy fella these days.

Omg I can’t believe it’s been 15 years since that happened lol. Old man got what he deserved when rushing a player. Don’t start no shite won’t be no shite.

I remember that. That was the height the the rivalry between those teams. I watched that, and could not believe that happened. I watched in disbelief as old fragile Zimmer was foolish enough to rush an athlete still in his prime throw him to the ground. What a memorable ALCS that was.

Ever listen to Nantz? He is a bigger snoozefest than Buck.

And then the following year in the ALCS, Yankees fans were tormenting Martinez on the mound in Game 1. That was probably the loudest I’ve ever heard a MLB crowd. Ever since the Red Sox won though the rivalry isn’t as entertaining as it used to be.

Bob Costas acts the same way but he's much more enthusiastic and energetic when he does play by play so people give him a pass. When the only times you raise a voice is when a player "acts out", you come across as a curmudgeonly a-hole.

That rivalry was so epic in 2003-2004.

I always thought it led to one of the more underrated SNL skits:

It's really only funny if you remember the incident, too.

Yankee fan. He had it coming. Kind of like the smallest kid in the fraternity was the most obnoxious and we'll start fights
