if you have some diversification in your portfolio then it wasn't horrible. been buying beat down stocks like: MA , MCD, ULTA,KMB helped keep me from losing my shirt . My worst buy was picking up some extra shares of AVGO this morning.

Skimmed 15% of my 401k yesterday (large cap fund). Once in my life I timed it. How to redeploy now… I’m in a self-directed brokerage so can add some of the popular ones here (currently have largely NBIS, HGRAF, OUST and to a lesser degree some others) or just reload most of it back into the large cap fund.

I'm going to look for stonks that are on sale Monday.
They’ll likely be on an even bigger sale in a month. Sell in May and go away is going to apply to 2026, unfortunately.

Lotta “grandpa’s stock market” talk in hear today.
Volatility is bad?
Sell in May and go away?
Just why?
I happen to enjoy V shaped dips and recoveries.
It’s the slow sell offs that are the scariest.
I guess there will also be the obligatory 95th annual September crash too…

Days like this is why I have a significant portion of BRKB.

I do not sell on bad days in the market. I had most of my cash tied up in puts and added 35K mostly in OUST yesterday. I think by the end of this year I will be thankful for the pullback. I think most of the selloff caused by the war and worries about interest rates being raised but I believe it will all work out.

Out of thin air can / will turn to dust and vice versa.
I’m retired (early). Accumulation phase over. After tax lifetime income is my game now.
To say, it’s fun to watch you guys navigate…market technicals, volatility/derivatives, reading the stock and market moods…
Hang in there! Ups and downs…if you have long time horizon, you will be fine. Focus on the war, not daily battles.
Enough w/cliches.
There is one stock I hope everyone of you own when it is your time to retire. It’s EIS. Everyday is Saturday. It is 100% secured financial independence. It is glorious. It is peaceful. It is fun.
Best wishes!

Depends on how you invest. I love volatility.

They got that insatiable “itch”. Penicillin won’t cure.

-14.92%, definitely a setback but only cutting into my recent gains. We will be back in no time. Most of what I hold is memory stocks which all sold off because of the NVDA Vera Rubin “50% memory cut” fear headline that dropped Friday.
