Sorry I couldn’t take it anymore. Had to get NVDIA at $96 this morning.

Does anyone else like Boeing at $140?

I grant you absolution my son. Say 3 Hail Mary's and go forth and sin no more.
Having said that, I'll join you in the confessional. Sold a few 55 MU puts. Or at least OTM at this particular moment.
No idea about BA.

The best- and worst-performing days of the stock market often occur in close succession, making it difficult to time when to sell or buy. Investors who have stayed the course during downturns have been able to take advantage of market recoveries and have typically come out ahead of those who moved to the sidelines.

I play Boeing a good bit. At $140, I bought some longer term calls. A couple weeks ago picked up some calls in the 150 strike range and sold when they hit $183 turning $500 calls into $2800.

Tariffs could be the fly in the ointment thought.

I moved into a larger position with the S & P Index fund from a bond fund today as I did the day last month when it was down 10%. It is now at about 17% below its highest market close of 6144.

This puts me about 98% S & P so I am out of funds to buy on any future drops. If it drops another 4 or 5 percent I won't give it a second thought about timing better as it has been a solid plan for me for some time.

It is in a 401K plan so there is no fees involved. When the market returns I will have make a handsome profit. Will it return to the 6100 category? Absolutely. Will it take a year or two or even longer? Who knows?

I’m terrible at returning to threads. Can someone again tell me the benefits of buying stocks in your Roth IRA?

You are the second person who said they do this, but I thought the “rule) was to not buy stocks in your Roth?

I’ll make better effort to come back to this thread for answer. Thx.

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’d want to put my highest earning things in my Roth, first.

I want my biggest gains there, ideally, over a pre-tax account.

I’m highly inexperienced but buying stocks and ETFs in your IRA is tax free growth. Moving around in general stock market is subject to capital gains I think.

You’re more limited in what you can put in per year but you can move it around without penalties.

Ok see the replies. Another question. In Charles Schwab can I move some current stocks i own over to my Roth IRA ? I’m asking is it physically possible and will it hurt anything tax wise since it didn’t start in my Roth IRA?

I’m a long term stock holder, just buy and see what happens when I’m 67.5 years old or whatever the age is. So curious more than I will do it, but stocks in my Roth, does that mean I can’t sell them without penalty before than?

Also I’ll start buying some stocks in my Roth IRA. Appreciate all the advice the MT brings.

If they are in a taxable brokerage account, I believe the only option is to sell them, which you’ll have to pay capital gains tax on, then re-buy them in your Roth, which will go towards your contribution limit. I believe, but someone please correct me if wrong.

If you really want them in your Roth, fine to do I guess, but if they have a pretty low cost basis, just let them ride. If you want some in your Roth, just update your contributions going forward to buy them in your Roth

You can trade within the Roth.
