Now take away the value destruction that will result from imminent recession.

Economics 201 at least s/b reqt to be US President.

Biden’s stimulus of inflation, Trump tariffs, and many more.

No, the money is coming from you and me.

Money is the subject. You and I are objects.

Although, technically, it's coming from the importer who passes the bulk of the tax downstream to the point of sale.

So those countries want to implode vs payong slightly more

Bold strategy cotton

You say this like you think the exporter pays the tariff, they do not, the importer does. A lot of importers seeing what amounts to a more than doubling of their wholesale costs as a result of the tariffs on Chinese goods are going to reduce their imports.

Do you think Tariffs start working in one week ?

China is holding all their stuff back.

That makes no sense. China would gladly ship merchandise if U.S. importers want it. Up to 80 scheduled ships have been canceled.

Exactly, US companies were probably paused knowing that things were temporary and the administration was going to back off the initial numbers.

And now they will get creative to work around any remaining tariffs

You mean the "trade imbalance" tariffs.

So the increase in price results in a decrease in demand. That is a pretty interesting phenomenon. Economists are going to be talking about all these revelations for years to come.

The new 10% baseline is still in effect.

tbh I'd bet money people like navarro and lutnick couldn't tell you the exact current status of tariffs seeing as they change every 6ish hours.

Good evaluation of the impacts.

But hasn’t it only been like two weeks? I would think we’d need at least a month to see a better picture.
This is my position, surely we are still offloading goods that were exempt from already being enroute.

The problem is a whole lot of people in this country are just like the folks on the poliboard.

They have about $12 in assets to share among themselves and even fewer brain cells.

First clue.

Honest question, Trump has no idea what the specific tariffs and reciprocal tariffs are on any given country.

So hopefully there is an adult that actually understands how these things work. So who are these people? If its US Customs we have a big problem.

I guess they won't be causing as much inflation as estimated either.

I’m still waiting for the Obamacare apology. All it did was frick people on insurance already and shift the risk to healthy people.

You can wait in line.
