You should clarify the $230 10/9 strikes were going for $25/$30 earlier this week, not the $300s

I was being most simple in the sense that they were being bought for $25-30 USD and the value dropped to $3 today.

To the questioner:
This looks like .25 and .03 in the options chains because you multiply that number x 100.
One contract represents 100 shares.

Nebius is a sponsor at kubecon, I'll report back any swag I can steal from their booth.

I don't think they've disclosed the capex but it sounds like Nebius is providing the software and building it will not be their responsibility. Approval shouldn't be a problem, as the Netherlands seems to be eager to ha e a huge computer facility on their own soil.

This is the sad state of affairs in which we find ourselves.

We've seen this movie before. AI sentiment turns negative, analysts who are supposed to know what is going on, but don't, start to question the capex drain and profitability of Nvidia chips question whether they will ever be profitable, and the price tanks. Then earnings come and it tanks some more. Then people step back and realize that earnings are up 400% and it turns around and becomes the analyst darling again.

One analyst from Yahoo just downgraded NBIS by saying that their moat was too narrow. He said that a client could switch to another vendor in "an afternoon", and there was literally nothing to keep customers from switching.

I thought to myself, Firstly, Nebius has been creating an entire ecosystem around their compute power to make it difficult for clients to switch. They just won't get the same efficiency and capabilities with any other neo-cloud. That's been NBIS's strategy the entire time. They want to be the neo-cloud that other customers switch to, not from, because of their onboard capabilities. Switching costs are higher when customers leave Nebius than they are when customers come to Nebius from somewhere else.

Secondly, where are they going to go? There is a shortage of compute power, and even if a customer wanted to leave Nebius, where are they going to go?

It's nuts. I think these analysts have AI write these reports and then fill in the Neo-cloud afterwards. They don't distinguish between IREN and NBIS, other than to look at statistics. Like comparing BMW to Chrysler. Both make cars...

This is what happens when the media is dying for a generational story.
They try their best to create one.

rotation out of the semis and into the application layer(s) is appropriate. Be patient

the application layer is all that matters. NBIS is well positioned for an earnings opportunity

I think it’s also for occasional profit taking from institutions. Recycle cap ex fear every time the market starts running around all time highs. Sell and then buy back in once the fear is exhausted again.
