Sounds good
I'm sorry to you and others on here if I came off a bit callous. It was never my motive.
I'm just here to help. That's all.

Paul I'm going to take you out to a nice seafood dinner.

:) No worries.
Someone say seafood? Haha.
BTW, anyone paid their graduation fee? Do they post it to your student account on compass?

can you share your experience with FIN 730? What it's focus is, etc? Thanks!
Trying to recall socal... It was definitely less math than 701 (and 710). It's primary focus was on the financial institutions themselves - Banks, Investment Firms, Insurance Companies, etc.. The instruments they offer and the rules and regulations they face. Did have some calculations on how they value these instruments. I still have Vines reading guides if you think it may help.

I contacted my adviser about that today. She told me it would just show up in your MyLSUS portal. The place where you pay tuition.

I really wish they would hurry up & post that fee. I'm ready to pay it & be done with it. After this Sunday, only 2 more weeks left & I will be finished. Hopefully I can finish with my 4.0 just for personal achievement, but more importantly, above all else, I'm just ready to have my social life back!

Roanoke, right there with you
In 2 weeks, I won't know what to do with myself in the evenings.

Yes, it can't come fast enough... I'm looking forward to the days of not knowing what to do but knowing that I have the option to do absolutely whatever!

Anyone tackled MKT test 2 yet? If so, how was it? Finished up my case study last night so I'm planning on studying up until Sunday

I found it to be tricky. Some of them looked like it could possibly be two of the answers given. There were also quite a few that were easy. I didn't have any graphs/charts/diagrams/scales or calculations.

For those in FIN 701, I'm planning to take the exam tomorrow. I'm pretty confident with most of the problems but I think problem 11-9 I believe it is, has given me trouble. Hopefully I don't get one like that. The terminology isn't bad at all though.

Problems 11-6 and 11-9 require entirely too many steps to calculate and would take way too long to complete. Unless I'm overthinking and there are shortcuts I'm missing. I have almost 2 pages of notes/calculations for each of those problems. NPV, IRR, MIRR problems won't take but a minute, but replacement analysis is entirely too time consuming for a test question IMO. I normally root for quantitative questions, but in this case I hope to avoid those.

Dr Vines hinted in Tuesday's zoom session that the test pool wouldn't have an entire problem for 11-6 or 11-9, but there was a good chance that he may ask us to do individual steps from these problems.

The fact that some of these graduate classes have open book exams is crazy to me.
I have taught classes at the graduate and undergrad level, and have given open book exams that were impossible to pass without a through understanding of the material. If a teacher is just creating a exam where facts from a textbook can be looked up and regurgitated they are the problem, not that the exam allows reference material.

I agree. I plan on taking it tomorrow and am worried about 11-6 and 11-9. I know how to do them but simply reading the question and getting all the variables written down takes a couple minutes. I timed myself doing those problems and to do 11-9 it took me 18 minutes and i had already done it once. He did say in zoom we would not get a whole problem so i hope that is true. I will probably get..What is the Final Cash flow, which is basically the whole problem. Good luck to all on the FIN701 test!
