Had I known taking this class would be like a second job, I wouldn't have doubled it up. I'm honestly not certain I have time in my life for these kinds of commitments.
It's well documented on this forum that her class IS a second job and not to double it up. Kind of disappointed she didn't stick with the simulation program. It was a bit of work but a fun and interesting way to apply the concepts.
GSMBA16... mine came in today!
Any Fall graduates that didn't attend the ceremony receive their diploma yet?

This leads to an important question: If a class is full, does it still show up in a search in MyLSUS?
From this compass (mylsus) homepage, don't log into your account. Select Course Schedules. From there you'll have a drop down with "Class Status." Selecting All or Full will show them.
Sorry I had to miss it. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Was looking forward to meeting you guys. Congrats again and Good luck to all.
It varies by state Multis10 but completion of the an MBA alone doesn't qualify you. To sit for the exam in LA you need a bachelor's degree, 24 hours accounting classes, 24 hours business classes, and 150 hours of college credit. Prior to the program I had everything but the 150 hrs.
I know this isn't the proper thread but I've learned to respect the advice here. Just wondering if any of you have experience with or could recommend an online CPA exam review course.
Nothing here socal. Maybe we'll have to go back for another semester.
Knocked out ISDS 705 earlier as well. No sweat.
Thankful to be done with this program and on to the next adventure. Unfortunately something has come up where I can't make the trip to Shreveport next weekend but I'll try to check you guys out on live-stream.
Good luck to all still going strong and congrats to those finishing up. Thanks to all who have participated in this forum and making this process a little smoother.
Sincerely,

perry, I assume this is with Williams and Hsieh?
MADM 701 is not hard but time consuming. A weekly multiple choice assignment through Wiley graded for completion, a weekly writing assignment based on the material from the chapters for that week, and a weekly exam. Like all of these classes with writing assignments, the fairness of grading depends on the "coach" you are assigned but if you stick to the rubric, you should get A's. To score 90+ on the weekly exams, you'll have to read and study the chapter material. Exams are proctored via proctorio.
FIN 710 is kind of the opposite. No busy work but it's not easy. He provides the class material and I found it to be easy to read and comprehend. Assessment is based on 4 m/c and t/f exams. They are not proctored but time limited. Some of the questions are tricky and you'll need a good understanding of the formulas to figure them out.
Both instructors have some pretty poor ratings. Both will have little to no interaction with students. I got A's in both but I learned nothing in MADM 701 and learned a lot in FIN 710.
You'll be really busy but it's good pairing of qualitative and quantitative classes.

Brent, I plan on doubling MADM 701 ad ISDS 702 in the Spring. What are your thoughts on this?
Sorry Jeaux. I meant ISDS 705. I didn't take 702. :spank:

Do you intend to double up MADM701 no matter when you take it?
If so, outside of ISDS 705, you won't find an easier class to double with than ACCT 701 with Ambrosio.
edit: sorry. ISDS 705, not 702.

I do not see Acct 701 being offered in the Spring. How were you able to register for it?
lltl4hlm2, if you are logged into mylsu it will only shoe open/available classes. ACCT 701 is full for AP1 so it doesn't show up. If you search through This Link you can change your search to include "Class Status: All" and it will show all classes, even those with no seats available.
Forgot you were taking that this session GSMBA16. How bad is it?

What can you tell me about this virtual presentation? Is it just a PPT that you submit to her or what? Weighing my options of taking this over HCAD 750
When I took it was a PPT presentation with voice recording followed by a short video of yourself (a minute or two) answering a couple of questions... I think they were "Why did you chose this topic?" and "What did you learn from your research?" or something similar.

Jeaux Cool,
I liked MADM715 and have often had to use what I learned at work. You have to read and study but no real busy work other than a virtual presentation. 2 chapters to read / week with a quiz administered through McGraw Hill Connect and graded for completion only. A weekly exam that is proctored via proctorio. The exams are tough but should be able to get an A if read the material, take notes, and study.

signa7,
MADM 715 is the only class on that list that I've had. I liked it and have often had to use what I learned at work. FIN 720 is the only other class listed that isn't new.

Just finished ISDS 705 exam 2. No worries... same as the first.
Session at 4:20 AM, was taking the exam 10 minutes later. Finished in 45 minutes.
1 more to go! Good luck.
