I felt 760 was the easiest course in terms of writing. It was a lot, but when I took his class, he asked us questions and each had to be 200 words. So, it was super easy to complete the 5 or 6 questions. As for the final paper, I was doing so well I literally copied/pasted from my weekly stuff to compile a "paper". It was B- worthy, but I believe I still received an A on the paper and in the course. Our group meetings were focused in advance on one slide so we could do the weekly video in 20 or 30 minutes. I wished I had doubled up with that class. I'm not sure how much it has changed though.

I found it to be tricky. Some of them looked like it could possibly be two of the answers given. There were also quite a few that were easy. I didn't have any graphs/charts/diagrams/scales or calculations.

:) No worries.

Someone say seafood? Haha.

BTW, anyone paid their graduation fee? Do they post it to your student account on compass?

I ended my post with the statement that I understand questioning the program. I understand that electronic communication can be difficult, but I wasn't the only one to notice it. Paul has since posted a response. Let's move on.

I don't take it personally. In terms of difficulty, I rate both my BBA and my MBA below my high school. I'm sure we've all seen some of the issues you've mentioned previously, but it just didn't come off well earlier. If you are now clarifying your intent was to critique the program itself, I'm sure we could all agree this program and many others have issues. So, that I understand.

Some of you all keep saying how well you know Paul. Well, I suppose you guys hit it off. That's not the case for all of us. I felt he was quite rude to me when I first joined and he knew nothing about me. Based on his use of words towards NYSoldier, he doesn't exactly seem like a kind person. He mostly appeared to be condescending and forceful with his words. He is immediately ready to deflect and try to repair his image rather than reword his initial post to show his true intent. That tells me he cares much more about his appearance on this forum than he does about being constructive to those he/we could help in this program. Maybe multiple comments/opinioms regarding his post will help him revisit how it came off. I'm sure we all put our foot in our mouth at some point. Our response is more important.

On another note, I've done really well in this program and this is my last course. I'm currently working on tracking my grade for this course and I'm considering skipping the last two cases. The difference is a .1 change in GPA. I'm fine with that. It will make these last two weeks so easy.

I agree with you. That material is so simplistic that you can't really study. Some of the questions were odd. I could write a paper on a few of them debating the reason why I chose the answer I chose. I'd be willing to bet my next paycheck that the professor would agree with me, but be forced to reply "Well, this is what is in the following textbook". The problem is we don't have a textbook. Slides aren't enough when you're tested on specific wording.

Has anyone taken MKT 701 recently? I have Aadel Darrat. I believe he may be new. We only have 3 exams and I was wondering if anyone knew about the length of the exams.

I missed another 3 point one. Ugh! It was the true IRR one which involved multiple steps. I forgot about that and used my excel template. Since I didn't get any of the answers, I just guessed and guessed wrong. I knew how to solve this!

I must have missed the same one as you where the answers was -1. I thought those were pretty easy, I don't have my paperwork to check. Were you able to solve it now and get -1?

I did. Found it easier than the first exam. I managed to get a 90. True/false were a pain, but didn't cost me too much. Know that he may not tell you long or short. He will say "you paid a premium" and then the rest of his question. You will have some like collar, covered, etc. I didn't think this exam was as bad as I was expecting. Black Scholes and put call parity, know those.

Hmm, I don't see what you're seeing. I show that Exam 2 is over 710-4,710-5,710-6. I don't think he will use anything from the previous section. I would guess he would only do that when it's a concept from previous material that leads to understanding the current material.

I'm with you! I referenced the wrong cell by mistake on one of my sheets! It threw my formula off. I understood the problem, just screwed up on my shortcut! Of course, it's one worth 3 points. :(

The fact that we are all waiting to ask for clarification on two questions we all believe are incorrect, is a good indication that the no review policy shouldn't be implemented. (These two questions were math and at 3 points a piece they could be worth 14% of our exam grade.) I'm not trying to bash specific instructors, because we all make mistakes. The problem is this could be the 2nd or 3rd time (in the last two classes) that I've had to dispute questions to get the points. With a no review policy, will we just forfeit those points? I'm thankful I only have one more course!

Pretty sure the one about.. What price could it fall to... didn't have the right answer available for selection either. I emailed him, so we will see.

Planning on taking it tonight. I find Hsieh to be difficult. He tests as if you've studied the formulas for years. So, his questions make you think of ways to maneuver to a solution. (Usually, not simple follow the basic formulas.) At least that's how it seemed in 720. Same this time?

Not that it's a bad thing, it's just difficult with the time constraints.

I didn't plan on taking it in this class. I felt like some of his questions in 720 were a bit tricky. Don't just get in the habit of solving them. My best is advice is to make a formula sheet of some sort. For example, list all the possible formulas you could use to find variance and think about what would be the necessary info to solve each one. I think 60% of the test might follow his guide closely, but he will likely have a portion which requires you to stop and think about the components he has provided and what formula could be used to find what he is requesting. I know this sounds somewhat vague, but I don't have a great example off the top of my head.

I'd say for sure. Haven't looked at the number of recent graduates, but that could be a reason the AACSB has pushed for a more strict program. (Proctoring etc.)

Oops I meant Finance 710. I'm done with my MADM courses.
