if you had to come up with $1M in cash

Does the end goal require me to need a home to stay in after? Because most people are off loading their home if they don’t have it in the bank or in a 401k.

1. Sell stocks, but the taxes would blow.
2. Cash in retirement, I’m over 59.5 so no penalties I guess. Taxes still blow.
3. Sell house. No mortgage now, but I’d have to live somewhere.

If its close to an election I'd run for Congress. You can easily embezzle that much in "campaign donations"

Agree with others, depends what it's for. That definitely affects the answer, but assuming it wasn't someone is going to murder my family situation, I'd go with 1) stop saving & accelerating mortgage, start accumulating cash 2) use cash 3) draw down lines of credit including take 401k loan 4) pull from investments and 5) throw a few thousand on some alt coins, and spend the year trying to pump them on Twitter.
