I really didn’t like them when I used to see them on the street, and one day while we were out of town we went to test drive an XF S just because we were bored and there was a dealer near our hotel. Checked out the XJL they had on the lot and fell inmlove with it. Looked at the A8 and the 7 series before buying, but the interior of the Jag just blew away the Audi and BMW. It has very good power and handles like a much smaller car. Handling feels tighter than my kid’s Mustang, which is amazing for such a big car. We’ve done a lot of traveling the past few years for my kid’s tournaments, and it makes traveling a joy rather than a chore. And my bad back loves those heated seat massagers. Stereo system is fantastic also. Oil changes are expensive (over $200), but it only needs it once/year or every 16,000 miles. Beautiful car and we’ve had no major issues with it.
ETA: May consider an F-type when I go back to a sports car. My wife’s cousin let me drive her F-type R, and the power in that thing was downright scary.

This is probably in-line with the majority of middle / upper-middle America.
My note is $700/month and $6500 remaining at 2%. Paid off in November 2019.

Payments are ~$300 a month with roughly 3% interest. The BMW will probably be traded in for something bigger this year. I work from home, so I don't drive my Jeep very much at all, and I'm good with keeping it.

Don’t waste your time arguing. Some people would prefer to accumulate money without ever spending it. I agree with you- if you can afford it, and enjoy it, go for it.
Everyone has their interests; vacations, tech gadgets, cars, etc. You’re obviously into cars. Not everyone wants to drive a Camry until the wheels fall off.

A car note isn't a big deal if you have a good interest rate and plan on driving it well after it's paid off.
My wife got a new vehicle after driving a 4Runner for 12 years we owe around $30k on it but payment doesn't affect anything. My truck and motorcycle been paid off for years.

They hold their value as much as any vehicle and they sure are fun when the weather is right. Will consider paying it off at the end of the year, just to be note free again.
