Dwayne Thomas talked some big shite about shutting down Alabama before the game. Dude proceeded to play out of his damn mind. If only we could have scored at all.

It wasn’t a game versus Alabama but that hit Chad Jones laid on Joe Adams in the Arkansas game in 2009 was nuts. That’s the only time I can remember the entire stadium in unison go,”Ohhhhhhhh!” I thought he knocked out some of his teeth but it ended up being his mouthpiece. He did pop off his helmet though.

Edit for typo.

That one goes to the entire defense. No first downs for Bama in the first half. Beat the Bear in Legion Field in his last season as a coach.

Did you watch Bama’s kicker at any point during the game or season? I knew at that moment the game was over . He couldn’t make anything 40 and over so in my mind I knew we’d win. I had no faith in either team moving the ball but I knew we could win with 3. You’re correct technically it didn’t win the game..

Dwayne Thomas #13 absolutely balled out and played incredibly hard in a loss which I always respected.

Clyde. Not even close.
Yep. If anyone else is the running back in that game, we lose. Burrow, Chase and Jefferson had good games, but Clyde played with as much heart as I’ve seen on a football field.

That connection in that game still tops the record books at LSU

Faulk vs Bama in 97

Ran for 179 and 2 TDs in Tuscaloosa, we beat em 27-0 (this was the year after Shaun Alexander lit us up and they won 26-0)

Had a couple nice stiff arms too (Youtube links below)

Stiff arm 1

Stiff arm 2/ long TD

Was in the front row of the stadium for that one. That will almost always be the best performance I have seen live.

Imagine those two in today’s college football.

Anyone that says anything but Rohan Davey and Josh Reed didn’t see the game that day. No offense to Joe or Clyde and what they did. But that 2001 performance was out of this world.
