This is going to be the longest offseason ever
Makes me think about the LSU-Ole Miss game this season: Ole Miss up 5 with 4th down at about midfield with maybe 2 minutes left. LSU offense sucks, safe bet is to punt it and hold them for the game. They go for it and convert to ice the game. Obviously would look like a stupid decision if it didn’t pan out, but he took away any possibility with that call

With what was supposed to be an absolutely loaded roster too

If it’s true that he’s holding a press conference and it’s related to coaching changes, I’m 99% sure that means he’s staying at OM.
My dad is on the board and says Kiffin is coming and bringing Kirby Smart as his DC so frick you

The A&M effect

2022: Playoff spot on the line and a trip to the SEC championship secured, and we get stomped by a shitty A&M team.

2024: Up 10 at the half, SEC lead on the line, and BK goes conservative and we have no answer for Marcel (also Elko subbing out his experienced starter for a dual threat backup is something we’ve been wanting BK to do all season).

2025: No need for elaboration
The way I see it is that either you are content with just enjoying LSU athletics without giving anything extra, or you see it as an opportunity to help make strides in obtaining elite talent. I can understand both sides. But if more fans can understand how valuable even just $5-10 a month is, we’d be bringing in enough to pay for at least 1-2 more elite recruits a year.
For the last time: Coaches cannot use their salary for NIL. Even if he wanted to, that’s more Scott Woodward’s fault than BK’s. Other top coaches are getting paid very similar salaries and still get good NIL contributions.
I think Weston Davis will be really good. And don’t be surprised if Solomon Thomas starts as a true freshman.
IMO last year was a bigger “what if.”

All we needed was better than a middle school defense.

Rational Thought Monday

I still can’t believe what a shite show that was Saturday. I get it, as a whole we really don’t have the talent we like to think we do. But geez you would think two weeks after getting sliced up by a Freshman QB, we’d have been prepared for a QB that WE KNEW was going to run the football. And I’m not even gonna speak about the offense. Just wtf. I’ve been a strong supporter of BK but that’s inexcusable. We can only hope these upcoming recruiting classes stick together and provide enough talent to make up for his incompetence.
I went back in 2018 against Bama and we were there at 4:30 AM and were in the middle of the pack. Not even close enough to really see us on TV. Granted, that was a 1 vs. 3 matchup, but just my experience.
The actual song is objectively cool. I understand those who don’t like the STTDB chant tho.
While this isn’t an excuse, the run game would be a whole lot better with a dual threat. Making the defense have to respect 3 possible options instead of just 2 (handoff or pass) would open so many more possibilities. The run game should be better regardless, but Nuss’ unwillingness to run hinders it a ton.

Normally I’m against players running their mouth and creating bulletin board material, but honestly I’m liking that we actually have some dogs on defense that are confident enough to talk shite. And I believe he’ll back it up too.
One thing I liked about the Arkansas refs was that they let the players go at it. Lacy and #13 on Arkansas were at it all night. And they let Weeks get away with what some refs may have called unnecessary roughness.

Yes, he still hasn't proven anything on the field

Yeah sure you can say he doesn’t have any stats to back up the hype. But what we do know is that he can absolutely take the top off a defense and have seen him do so in the past. Overall he’s probably the 3rd-4th best receiver, but he’s definitely a vertical threat we have been missing.
