Or learn about some goddamn shortcuts. You don't HAVE to jump onto Highland road and ride it out for 6 hours. There are other roads.

Because there will be 7K or so more people in the stadium (sometimes)? Do you really think that will impact parking, traffic and the amount of people on campus that badly?

That is a reasonable assumption. But I feel like if that were the case, he would have said so. If you're trying to calm people down, you might want to mention that there is a plan and details of the plan will be released in the coming weeks ahead of the A&M game. He didn't say that. That leads me to believe he's either a poor writer or there is no such plan.

Before the football season, the Athletic Department contracted with a gameday traffic consulting group to evaluate our current traffic plan. The group was on site this past weekend for the Florida game, and it will again review our operations during the Texas A&M game next month.
I wonder what exorbitant sum this cost and if LSU can request a refund? Clearly the consultants have not improved the traffic situation at all. In fact, it appears to have gotten worse by all accounts.

We’ve noticed that a large volume of fans who sit on the West Side of the stadium have been attempting to enter at the Southwest corner (Gates 1, 2 and 3), causing delays in getting through the gates. Please be aware that Gates 4, 5 and 6 at the Northwest corner may also be used for entering the stadium. Utilizing all six of our gates on the West Side and arriving at the gates as early as possible will help to expedite your entry into the stadium.
Lol at the stupid people that sit on the West side. Instead of bitching why don't you read your ticket and see that you can go in another gate.

And maybe, just maybe, Joe Alleva should leave his suite, drive his own car to the game, park in a free lot, walk to the stadium, wait in line, and sit in regular seats with regular concessions. Could probably save hundreds of thousands by actually getting involved, but I'm willing to bet it would never happen.
Funny thing is, I was sitting on river road for over an hour when Alleva came driving by with a police escort parting traffic.

Yes, there are some shortcuts. But, it doesn't take many folks to screw up a shortcut once it is used. You have to plan for major inroads and outroads to be planned, overseen, and utilized for massive events like this. Relying on people to 'go find a shortcut' is occupationally lazy and sorely lacking a sense of accountability.
Alleva's blurb about continuing to just monitor the situation through the A&M weekend is ridiculous. They have overhead images, they have reports from officials/fans, etc. They need to make some freaking adjustments. Sounds like one is just to instruct the dumbass BRPD cops to actually *monitor* a parking lot's capacity instead of just turning away people at a predetermined time.
And once those people are turned away, you better have a route for them to go.

The group was on site this past weekend for the Florida game, and it will again review our operations during the Texas A&M game next month. Although our athletic staff and local law enforcement work diligently to create the best procedures for gameday traffic, it is smart to get a fresh perspective on our operations. We hope to gain insight from the consulting group into improving our traffic plan.

We rely heavily upon our local law enforcement officials to create a smooth flow of traffic both before and after the game, and we plan to reiterate to them how critical their cooperation is in moving thousands of vehicles on and off campus.

Finally, please consider carpooling to Tiger Stadium on game day, as that can greatly reduce the number of vehicles on campus, and please try to arrive on campus as early as possible to alleviate traffic concerns.

They just started the study. We probably need to let them finish before asking for a refund.
Be honest----you wanted the Chief fired before the Florida game, didn't you.

You're hilarious. I don't work for the AD but I also understand how the current administration has the department stronger financially and in terms of across the board success than it literally ever has been. Logistical problems with moving 100K+ into a small area using archaic road systems? NO frickING WAY!? FIRE EVERYONE!

No shite, dude. I'm not saying LSU should "rely" on people using shortcuts. I'm just saying that there are plenty of them to be had and fans should know this and utitilize them when given the opportunity. It probably won't remedy the overall problem, but on a small scale it helps.

Such as? Oh, you answered that question. The cops need to do their fricking jobs. The roads and infrastructure we have are there and there is nothing they can do in terms of road work that won't make the problem worse in the interim. Imagine the bitching if that happened. Should we halt all campus improvements and construction and the South Upper deck construction? That would help.

Sad that Joe had to write this. If you have trouble finding a spot and getting to the game on time, you left the house too late. It's not the rest of the world's job to make sure your Saturday is convenient.

Do you know what the study entails? Do you know when the consultants are supposed to make recommendations on implementing the traffic plan? Seems to me that if this has been going on all season they should have made some headway into alleviating (not a play on words) some of the traffic problems. Obviously if they hired a traffic consultant before this season this was a known problem.

I really wish this game day experience crap would just go away, so we can get back to the real important bitching...
Miles is an idiot
Miles has taken over the offense, defense, special teams (whatever one is having an off day)
Miles promoted Malveto, so he makes lots of mistakes
Miles has lost control of ___________
Fire Chavis, game has passed him by
Fire Stud, OL sucks
Fire Ensminger, he sucks
Fire Raymond, he sucks
Fire Moffitt, team is soft
Fire Cameron (soon as the offense has an off-game, you can bet this one will be coming)
Fire Ausbury - schedule sucks (of course, same people bitching about the schedule would be calling for heads if we scheduled all 9 remaining top 10 teams at home and lost one by 3 points)
Fire ___________ (know I am missing someone)
Sit _______, he sucks

and Alleva seems totally incapable of thinking out of the box....
there should be CATS buses running up and down River Road and down Skip Bertman to a dropoff point every 10 minutes from downtown and Farr Park...
a traffic map and times should be posted on the Internet and released to the media for publication in print NLT Thursday morning to give people time to plan...
contraflow lanes should give priority to High Occupancy Vehicles...HOV3 should be the entry point...
