I’m curious if the stadium would actually be sold out in actuality. A lot of people plan way in advance for these games. I know bowl games are harder because of the distance, but having a game on short notice, I am curious if it’s a full crowd.

It will be the most crowded the stadium has ever been. And that goes for all schools, not just LSU.

I think a cold weather team hosting a southern team may have a bigger advantage...

As of now the low for December 21st is Columbus, Ohio is 24 degrees. I would not want to play against Ohio State in sub 32 degree weather...

they aren't in the mix this year, but Wisconsin would have a huge one.
Camp Randal is pretty loud and raucous on it's own.

this year's forecast for that weekend in Madison is a high of 24° and a low of 12° with periods of heavy snow.

I can't believe anybody would ever think this. I bet you haven't been to many LSU games in your lifetime.

Top 4 seeds get a first round bye. Quarterfinals aren’t played on campus.

Yes and the 64 season Fla game moved to Dec due a hurricane; as I recall (9th grade) the OM game with AM in a arm cast was not really cold. Just cant tell it here in SELA could be freeze or balmy but bring it on!

LSU beat Auburn on Dec 1, 2001 to go to the SECCG. It was a crazy game.

quote:

“They were dancing on the eye, I believe is what happened, and we didn’t walk out, we elected to take the penalty, kicked an onside and got it, went down and scored,” said current Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher, who was LSU’s offensive coordinator at the time. “That really set them back and we took control of the game for the whole game from that point on.”

So, what's the perceived pathway in the playoffs? 5th or 6th seed, right? Get a home game, then 2nd rd neutral field matchup against ACC or Big 12?

The perfect scenario would be to just miss out on the CC game and still get a 5-8 seed.

Everyone has to play 4 games minimum essentially to win a title, but if you make a CC game and lose it, but still make the playoffs, you’re kinda screwed having to play 5 total games and less time off than the others.

All home teams will have advantages, perhaps LSU even more in TS, but it's way too early to talk playoffs. Need to focus on this weekend now.

Every single home game from 2012-2022 and 75-80% of away games. Every neutral site game in that period. Went to every 2019 game.

I saw attendance/intensity seem to slowly and steadily decline during then. Even some big games during 2019 weren’t full in the uppers. Saw a few neutral/bowl games not filled out.

I think the short notice/cost/no students on campus will be a bigger deal than people realize. It will be more similar to a bowl game atmosphere than a true home SEC game atmosphere.

You do realize that most fans live in driving distance. A lot of students live within driving distance. This would be a playoff game, the fans will show up in force. Plus the away team will probably bring in more fans. Also what would be the required ticket distribution to the away team?

Likely playing highest non G4 team and then winner gets Big12 champ.

yep 100% best path. plus we would get home playoff game, top 4 seeds do not

best case for us would be get the 5th seed and host the G5 winner

quarters play big 12 winner(BYU at this time) in Nola in the Sugar bowl

then play the cotton bowl for semi

that puts all 3 games giving us a distinct advantage unless we play UT or A&M in the cotton

We're fans. We can discuss anything we want when we want because we wanna discuss it.

I have no illusions that anything I'll post on tRant is gonna affect the outcome of a game. If it did, we'd never lose.

Posts on here thinking we can’t sell out tiger stadium for a home playoff game?

Chance of not being a sellout is 0%

I’m old and haven’t been to a game In years but if a ticket can be had I will absolutely be there.

LSU over Auburn 2001 - An all time great evening in LSU football history.

Pushed back to December because of 9/11.

Auburn stomps on Tiger Eye and hit with a penalty before kickoff. Saban calls onside kick, Michael Clayton recovers.

Damon Duval tries to fight the band at halftime. Missed a FG (and threw an interception I think).

LSU goes to SEC Championship game for the first time.
