I have no reason to disbelieve you. So assuming you are correct, it sounds like Puma and Rafer may not be aligned with whatever deal Puma may be trying to make, so Puma and Wade are just going around Rafer out of self interest.
The reality is ALL parties are self interested, Puma, Rafter, Reece, Wade, for different reasons. It sounds like Wade has the ear of Reece and because of that Rafer may be getting pushed out of the decision making process. If angering Rafer was a blockade to signing Reece, the Reece would be out on LSU. However, the fact that he isn't tells you he's willing to make a decision independent of his father.
That's NOT to say anyone is a bad actor in the situation. It's just that they are all looking out for their own self interest

I hope LSU wins every game, period. That means im invested in Wade being as successful as possible.
But needing an article to show you how low character Wade really is, is comical
Wade can coach, but hes the slimiest POS to come along in the sport in a long time. I wish recruiting was his only issue, but.......
Whatever happens, wade and LSU will end one day, in a complete dumpster fire, IMO

Will Wade’s players have not been in trouble with the law, they have not been in trouble with school officials for discipline or academic Issues. the analogy is actually too good because speed limits are actual laws. the NCAA is just idiots. their laws are means to be ignored. and everyone did. so much that they got rid of the rules about paying. everyone was already doing it.

it does make it ok. the point of the rule is that everyone is on a level playing field. if everyone else is paying their players, the right thing to do is pay the players. this is not some ethical question like punching innocent grandmas, which is never ok. its about rules in a game. its not about ethics and morality.

if you want to argue that laws=morality, that's a terrible point but its even weaker when talking about rules of a game.
