Making it in baseball isn’t easy, at all. Most guys simply don’t have the patience or the love of the game to make it through the minors waiting for your chance to get to the pros. Look at how long it took Austin Nola. Most guys just arent going to deal with little pay and shitty accommodations while playing almost every single day without much of a life outside baseball

Minor league baseball is a truly terrible life. I have many friends who played professionally and I don’t think it’s worth it even if you make it to the majors for a few years from a long term standpoint. Most baseball players would end up with better lives if they’d just leverage their LSU fame to get a good job and work their way up. Jason Determann really did it right IMO

Zeringue may have had to pitch at EDW, but he wasn’t a pitcher. I know he was a bad arse catcher and I’m pretty sure due to injuries, that’s why he didn’t continue catching. All I know is that boy hit some freaking bombs while at EDW! I saw many hit off the roof at Green Acres nursery! 400+!

With him at EDW, they had some of the most all around talented teams I seen. They were badass and I wondered if they recruited.

What a truly, truly, stupid thing to say. You obviously don't know shite about Professional Baseball.

No you don't and your next statement screams "I don't know shite about Professional Baseball." If you have to keep breathing at least don't post anymore, idiot.

One of my best friends was the youngest person ever drafted at the time he was drafted and I’ve trained with or been friends with 30+ people who’ve been drafted and played in the minors, 2 of whom made it to the majors on multiple occasions and never stuck. I think I know what I’m talking about. You don’t know shite about professional baseball if you’re dumb enough to argue that MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL is a fun life. fricking douche

Really? Because again, I’ve seen guys get called up and sent down for years without having the chance to sign a big contract and guess what they’re doing with their lives now? Not shite. I don’t know a single guy who wasted 10 years on MiLB who has anything to show for it. So yeah, go frick yourself you stupid little frickhead

Well that escalated quickly.

Back to Jon, I remember the first time I watched him at EDW. He was catching and would throw guys out by a mile from his knees. Then he comes to bat and hits a piss rocket of a homer that never got higher than 20ft off the ground...lol. Good dude man.

Why when teams have a run everyone assumes no way they were that good without cheating. I assure you there is no one at ED White smart enough to recruit. They just had a group of guys that were just good

A long-time friend that I work with said he got a call from EDW about his son going there to play baseball and the tuition was greatly reduced. I do not know if you call that recruiting but I do.

Many many many former Tigers way better than JZ never sniffed the show . Less than 2% drafted Tigers will see the show. Just the way it is

I've been working in/on Professional Baseball for longer than you've been alive, Sally. Maybe you can fool some TD posters who don't give a shite one way or the other with your bullshite, but I'm not having any. Solely for the entertainment of my good TD brethren I will piss a little farther than you.

Probably not true but even if it is so what? You were friends with the guy so that makes you an expert on MILB life? I know a guy who writes bluegrass music but that don't mean I can play the banjo at the Opry, dumbass.

Again, probably not true but even if it is so what? I'm gonna guess you're talking about former Tigers but your name isn't Ben or Skip or Pawl or Anthony or even Smoke. So, all these dudes have told you MILB life sucks? I doubt it, they're playing baseball trying to make it to the Bigs. You sound like a fringy little bitch that enjoys negative vibes. Oh, wait! Now I get it---maybe one or two of their wives have told you that!?!?!

I’ve seen guys get called up and sent down for years without having the chance to sign a big contract and guess what they’re doing with their lives now? Not shite.
So the MILB quality of life has prohibited them from advancing their lives when they leave MILB? Sounds to me like if anybody is disappointed in their past and present life path---and not doing shite about it---it would be you.

Italicized above is probably the only accurate thing you've said in 2 posts. Chances are you don't know a single guy whose played 10 years in the Minors. They are rare even with the influx of Latin kids who signed at 16/17. If you knew the difference between your a-hole and deep center field you wouldn't have even considered that statement.
Quit this post while you're behind, Sal. You've prolly quit everything else in your life so it shouldn't be that difficult. Oh, and go frick yourself.

That happens now.
That did not happen during the 4 state championships run.

The worst player on the worst team in the Majors is still a baseball phenom. You have to be incredibly good to make an MLB roster.
