Personally I don't like what I have seen of his work ethic. Lazily promoting coaching positions from within and hiring a bunch of older coaches that no other schools are competing for.

Some are also upset about the recruiting class he brought in due to its lower than usual ranking. I personally give this a pass because it looked like there was a lot more parity in this recruiting cycle and our class did bring in some needed beef.

Overall our team last year was undisciplined, due to penalties, inconsistency, and inability to execute on a high level. I think this is reflective of the leadership, so that is why I'm not impressed with O professionally though I have no problems with him personally.

Because she wouldn't testify, he paid her off and then she dropped the restraining order. Don't kid yourselves most of these cases get dropped not because the guilt isn't there. She never brought charges she just wanted a restraining order, the police were charging him but had to drop when she wouldn't testify.

Making him the butt of jokes while he is the head coach is counterintuitive, degrading and stupid. Les Miles was also the point of countless jokes about his hat, his clock management, not crossing the 50 in the title game, running into a stacked 8 man box, and his mesozoic offenses. I myself referred to him as Elmer Fudd

So were you wrong to make fun of Les while he was head coach? Were you being "degrading and stupid?"

Do you folks even read what you wrote before you hit submit?

The hand he was dealt? You mean the squad full of top 5 recruiting classes and future NFL players? What exactly are you talking about --- hand he was dealt?

There's no way this continues to be a serious question on this board. It's not possible.

Not to mention half of O's coaching staff including the now highest paid, therefore should be best, assistant in the country.

Tough hand for sure.

It's kind of unbelievable.

I mean, this argument could be made if we were talking about having hired some successful head coach with a solid but less than sexy name. At that point it would be all about which speculative move was more likely to be right. You could have an argument about who might have been better.

But we fricking hired a guy with a 10-25 record in the SEC Western Division in his only stint as a Head Coach. EVERYONE was potentially better!! To suggest that at LSU we could not attract a better candidate than a coach that failed spectacularly in our own conference is simply not believable by any metric.

Alleva hired who he wanted after Jimbo turned us down and Herman went with Texas after Joe told him to decide or else. It's not that there were no viable candidates between Tom Herman and Ed Orgeron...it's that Alleva didn't bother to look at anyone other than those three.

The UF loss was bad, he then followed it up with Troy and state, the acted like the one without balls against ND.

Oh and he signed our worst class in 15 years when he was the main guy.

And he's acted like a bitch when the pressure has been on, when he knew the expectations going in.

Exactly, the big players on this staff, the ones he has lobbyed for, were left overs from fricking Les.

The two players he said were the best defensive players in the country were recruited by, Les Miles' hires.

Honestly, next to troy and miss st...my biggest issue with Os tenure is going into 2016 bama game with a more conservative game plan than les ever had. After knowing damn well that was the reason we lost the last 5.

He coached that game not to lose too bad...specifically to help his case with getting the HC job. Had he actually tried to win and got blown out, he knew he would've been off the short list.

Still pisses me off to this day

Agreed ! I sure would like to know the real reason for this.
First of all.....why blame the hire on O....he didn't hire himself.
Secondly......who else was available?
Thirdly......any and all coaches fully recognize the chicken scheit way in which Miles was fired by Alleva.....and want no part of that underhanded crap.
Forth.....Coach O has done pretty damn good with the hand he was dealt, except for Troy and Notre Dame.

O defenders folks....

Bama is just a machine, but the way the UF game went from before the whistle to the last play should have disqualified him.

True. I'm just saying he cost us the bama game before the first whistle

I don't think folks hate the bastard. Fact is he's on a very short leash since losing to Troy and then blowing the bowl game.
