Why Fight this?

The players in question were not a part of our roster and we were voted #11 in the country.
We are willing to risk the negative impact and fight against the SEC about this by adding guys who did not get drafted into the NFL and weren’t even good enough to make a roster?
We have the best TE in the country.

Why do we keep seeing the same talking points?
I don't understand the issue. Either the law says they can play or not. Why is it deeper than that? It wasn't for Chambliss. Why not care about these guys eligibilities? They were screwed with the 5 for 5, sued and got eligible just like all the others felt they were screwed when the NCAA said no.
I don't see why this is a big deal. These are not some NFL vets. They weren't even good enough to make the NFL rosters. There has already been some of these guys play this past weekend.

I’ll be honest, anyone who can’t comprehend that LSU isn’t fighting anything isn’t worth discussing this issue with.

It's a long-standing rule if you go to the NFL you can't come back to play college football. Old heads see this as a line in the sand like the gambling saga with Sorsby.
You have to admit, college football has changed a hell of a lot in the past 5 years, the traditionalists are bound to fight back at some point.
I believe they should let the kids play, but I'm not some big wig old head at the SEC either

LSU is not fighting it. The players are fighting it for their own benefit.

Because the SEC is allowing a player ruled "ineligible" by the NCAA but granted a TRO by a local judge to play for Ole Miss because their coach left them and everybody feels sympathetic for them.
But when the coach who left is granted a TRO by a local judge allowing players ruled "Ineligible" by the NCAA to play for his team, suddenly the NCAA's authority must be respected and a stand must be made against the courts getting involved to protect the integrity of the sport.
This isn't about the 5 for 5 players. They are merely the spark to ignite the powderkeg.
Lane and LSU are forcing the SEC to prove they are fair to every member and every member is given the same, equal treatment.
They can't choose to ignore one NCAA ruling, and uphold another. They also can't choose to abide by one TRO, but they won't abide by another TRO. Especially when both involve player eligibility.
And the fact that we are the only ones making this stand shows the CFB just how scared of LSU (and what LSU may become) the rest of the conference is.

"WE" aren't fighting anything. LSU isn't fighting anything. The players are fighting. "We" are just waiting on a court decision.
If they're eligible, we move on with them. If they aren't, we move on without them. It's pretty simple.

Undoubtably, this will be challenged again in court, federal court, all the way up to the Supreme Court and can go either way.
1/2 the athletic budget can be a death penalty for the whole athletic program.
But all this is about is fighting the establishment....all for a Defensive End and a Tight End, when we have the best Tight End in the country.....
This is truly bizzare.....

Who cares how well they did in NFL training camp? A couple of these guys were All-SEC a year ago. We aren't asking them to make an NFL roster, we're asking them to be the college players that they already have been.
The question every single Tiger fan should be pounding the media with is why are we the target of criticism? Everyone is trying to take advantage of whatever rules are currently in place. You can either let other teams win the battle, are you can fight by the same rules and try to win. LSU is doing nothing illegal.
I don't care who likes the rules. I don't like the rules. I don't like NIL, the portal, the unlimited free transfers, the litigation leading to ridiculous waivers for extra year, after extra year... But this is where we are, And if all these other schools are doing whatever they can to gain an advantage, and it is being allowed, then why is LSU the only school anyone cares to talk about?
