No way about Cody Reine. I think he has a great shot to win RF

The terrible thing about baseball. Every player thinks that need need "personal lessons". I guess LSU's pitching coach last year (current UCF head coach Terry Rooney) knew nothing.
As far as the football spin, it has nothing to do with the other situation. The guy Shane saw has MLB ties, spends time in their training facilities at times, and is very well respected for his knowledge and especially ability to work with kids. He's no Joe Blow.

I don't doubt your guy's ability at all. I'm just commenting on the philosophy of every little league dad today. Well, if I get my son lessons from this guy (see Big Leagues of BR) then my son will be good. Obviously, the only thing these kids' need are lessons from a former player, and they will be an all-star.
I just didn't realize that it had made it's way into the college ranks also.

"i hope the ncaa is real happy that they are stopping the sport from growing."
Pure horsecrap. The NCAA is not stopping college baseball from growing.

I dare you to say that to Ron Polk.

jones wont be back unless his grades pick up. he will stick to football.
pontiff can come back if he wants, its his call. a few seniors could graduate in december and make their decision then to stay or go.
the guys who redshirted last year probably wont make the cut. cody rein and one other i think.

If he was going to get cut and it was a mutual thing as stated above and he only has a semester left why would he bother playing in the fall? He WILL be there in the spring! He will get the Sr. day that Wally never got to enjoy!

you aren't the first person who said this. I wonder why everyone seems to think this is the case? I don't know much about Martin except that he throws hard. But Reine is a stud. Either way, why would you cut two guys who can contribute for the next 3 or 4 years and keep someone who may not contribute in the one year they have left, like Davis?
And as for Ardoin, I'm surprised he has an arm left after high school. I know how they like to abuse arms at SHVP. It's really a shame because they ruin any chance of success their players may have at the next level.

Mahtook and Hanover were our top recruits...they will stay. Coach will have to keep the top young guys for the future.

Wes Luquette is still in HS
Mahtook is on that roster, #8

idk about pontiff...he brings leadership character and not a bad bat to the lineup maybe not as a starter but i remember a few clutch pinch hits he had last year late in games

yeah, I want to know too.
I brought this up during baseball season, that it would be stupid to cut a kid who can play 4 years(Reine) as opposed to a SR that has 1 year left and will pretty much not play at all.
How does that benefit the program? The only positive is that it would free up another scholarship when the SR graduates, but i dont see the point in cutting a HS All AMerican like Reine was.

I watched a 12 yr. old game this summer and saw hook after hook after hook.

Does anyone know why Escobar is leaving he was supposed to be an absolute stud

I don't know anything about the situation at all, and I think Reine could be a player here. But if this is true it could also be a mutual thing. If it looks like he may only be a platoon player here he would be better off going to juco next semester (because of the new transfer rules).

I personally think it should be McGhee, but I dont think PM will do that to a Sr. Its different with Pontiff b/c he can graduate in Dec.
