Just curious about everyone’s predictions. I think Myles is a natural answer for 7 on offense, only if it’s for being a dead ringer to Bert Jones in his LSU days. Why not lean into it, ya know? Stingley on D to remain in the same vein of Pat Pete, Badger, Grant, etc. As far as 18 on the either side, ???????? Whatch’all think?

That tradition seems forced now. I am in favor of giving it a break.

I never had a problem with it just being one player wearing 18, but it’s def forced now. 7 wasn’t really a tradition, we just had 3 really good players wear it over 8 years.

I don’t like “number traditions”. It was a little better when #18 was passed down on the low. The whole rah rah/celebration behind the numbers is cringeworthy IMO.

As fans people might think it’s cringy but clearly the players don’t and they’re the ones who matter in this situation

The whole “tradition” of the numbers ruined it for me when Giles wore #7 after transferring, never playing a down for us, and then sucking so much a-hole

Isn’t the # 18 voted on by team to give to a team leader?
If that’s true, I’d like to see Damone Clark end up with 18 again, this time hopefully with a coach to put him in position to be successful and to help him mature in the game.
It’d be awesome to see Damone Clark ball out this year like we were expecting out of him last year. To prove to recruits LSU has fixed the coaching problems of last year as well as giving Clark a “comeback” story to launch him into his NFL career.
All that crap he went through last year, and he stayed anyway.
#18 all day!

Just let whoever wants the numbers have them. I think you would find that, without all the silliness of "awarding" numbers, most players would rather keep the numbers they have.

Cannon and Burrow made 20 and 9 special. Nothing special about 7 or 18.
