I don't think much has changed after week 1, besides Ellzy stock down a bit, Wright stock up.

Looking at game 1 Wilson/Watkins were the go to guys. Wilson has a lot of experience in this conference and is a very solid receiver when healthy. Watkins is going to be a highly utilized guy lane likes a lot. I dont know that either is 1st round type material, but will be super productive this year in his scheme nonetheless.

Wright is the guy I'm excited to see move forward, dude clearly was putting it all out there even with the game well secured. He wants to play, give that dude more snaps.

All the bigger receivers we have will probably just not quite be talented enough to consistently get separation in this conference loaded with good DBs. Clemson's best strength was probably their secondary so take note of that. They have a projected 1st round CB (Hampton) for 2027 draft. But taking a look at our "Bigger" receivers:

Roman Mothershed - 6'5, 212
- Moved him to TE a bit to try and see if he would work some there, never appeared in game 1 outside of special teams

Malik Elzy - 6'2 217
- This guy somehow got the start, but didnt play much in the game after his drop/INT. He had like 16 catches in 3 years at Illinois, I doubt he's any kind of answer

Josh Jackson - 6'2 199
- Didn't play in the game, in year 2 at McNeese had some stats, nothing notables

Tre Brown - 6'2 191
- Got a few snaps at end of game I believe with the 3s; big YPR stats from Old Dominion last year, doesnt seem like much a factor in practices leading up to season

Jackson Harris - 6'2 205
- 4th most snaps of any WR from the game, was targeted 3 times for 1 catch (big one though) but also had a drop; could have most potential in this group...big stats at Hawai'i last season (big YPR guy)

Brayden Allen - 6'2 198
- Among the true freshmen looks to be either #2 or #3 (Depending where Jabari Mack sits) of them behind Corey Barber and did not play in game 1


Both Jackson Harris and Jayce Brown were targeted 3 times, both had 1 catch and 1 drop in the game. I think people generally expect more from Jayce Brown in the long run considering he was pretty good at KSU. Neither graded out well against Clemson though (sub 60 per PFF).

Outside of Watkins, the WRs were, at best, inconsistent Saturday night (I'm not counting Green as a WR). For as poor as they played overall, Clemson still has some good players in the secondary and LSU's WRs weren't able to get much separation on deep throws.

IMO, there was so much good on Saturday night. But I think the WRs have the biggest room for improvement

I'm hoping to see Mothershed this weekend after hearing about him off and on through the offseason though have no idea if he has the potential to be a regular contributor.
