We talked about how Eric would have been in the NFL HOF.
No doubt Big E would have! He was just starting to hit his peak when he died at 25 years old! He was the biggest and strongest he had ever been. Was about 310 and hadn’t given up a sack in 2 years!
True story. William “The Refrigerator” Perry would call him before they would play and would joke with him and tell him not to make him look too bad!

Agree with all the above. Would add Ben Wilkerson AA center

When I played OL in high school they showed us film of multiple greats of all time in the nfl. Then they put on his film and there was no comparison. He played the way that would scare a DL. Just mean and ruthless

Never really thought about how LSUs starting 5 would rival anyone else's in college football, 3 HOFers
on th, Andolsek very well couldve been andwith Will, the talents definitely there to be in this starting 5, the crazy thing is i dont think EJs very far behind Will. Whit, Faneca, Mawae, Andolsek, Campbell.... The position I was most excited about when Kelly was hired was OL, with the decision to keep Davis he's exceeded expectations with two first rounders coming this year and 2 more likely in top 3-4 rounds with a boatload of young talent in house and way more on the way for 25

Whitworth will be in the NFL HOF.

Big Whit. I'm from Lake Charles and Barbe played them in the playoffs. That whole line looked 6'4 and above. It was nuts to see as a 11 year old.

Too many forget Tyler LaFauci and Robert Dugas. Both All Americans and MD's.

Lance Smith was outstanding in the 80s

Right now Faneca, Mawae, Whitworth and Andolsek are the tier 1s. Will Campbell will be on that list when his time is up barring injury and/or a drop off in performance.

Eric Andolsek?
I think had he not died tragically, he had a shot to make the NFL HOF.
Los of recency bias in these lists, but he was incredible

I say Alan Faneca. What are your choice or choices?
There's not much difference between those three.
Add Andolsek, Albergamo and Pocic to the "Right up there towards the Top" of the list............

Few tidbits:
I think Mawae started at all five OL positions.
Andolsek started some as a DL as a true Fr in '84 after Barbay (vs UF) and Henry Thomas (vs ND) were lost for the season. Also, if you can find it, Eric did a number on the Fridge in the Thanksgiving Day game vs the Bears in maybe '89.
I think Will Campbell will join this discussion soon. He is an elite talent.
Finally, Trai Turner deserves mention. We didn't see enough of him in P&G since he went pro as a draft eligible soph after '13.
