Games of interest today:

- Wake Forest vs Miami
- Clemson vs UNC
- Arkansas vs aTm
- Florida vs Vandy
- Coastal is in the driver's seat and would have to get beat by ULL twice today not to advance to the Sunbelt finals
- Stanford got 10 run ruled. Pac 12 is trying to join the Big10/12 as worthless conferences.

Agree. We aren't locked in to a spot with Vandy and Clemson still playing. We end up 4-6 and most likely #5.

I am pretty convinced Clemson will be the 4. Only one spot behind in RPI. More conference wins. More quad 1 wins.

They could also possibly flip past us in RPI (but I'm no expert on the specifics of RPI). They win today they will play Wake or Miami in the finals.

Does anyone know how it really works?

I'm sure there is a person or two on here who took the time to dive into it. I'm not one of them though.

#4 or #5. Possibly drop to #6 after these other teams finish playing this weekend.

Vandy losing today may lock them in at 6.

The three teams likely coming to Baton Rouge regional? Surprised if Southern Miss not here but after that, thoughts?

That's super hard to predict. Grambling, or the Nichols/UNO winner would seem like the likely 4 seed. From there, it's just a guessing game. You are just looking regionally to try to make a guess, so USM is a good guess.

So they will ignore pretty much every other metric and put LSU ahead because you decided that the one LSU leads in is the most important?

It’s not me that puts a lot of emphasis on that metric. It’s the committee. When you are comparing LSU and Arkansas (and Florida) you are really splitting hairs. You could make an argument for any of them to be the 2 seed. But one glaring negative for Arkansas is a losing road record compared to LSU being 7 games over .500 on the road.

For many committees the unofficial the mantra is “good teams win at home. Great teams win anywhere”. That is a big reason why the basketball selection committee changed its metric to place even greater emphasis on wins away from home.

If Arkansas is seeded ahead of LSU I wouldn’t be shocked at all. But since this thread is nothing more than an informal discussion amongst fans. I think LSU’s 12-5 road record vs. Arkansas’s 7-9 record will be the deciding factor between to otherwise similarly situated teams

Called it yesterday that Clemson would hop us in the D1 regional projection today. Clemson is the hottest team in America. They’ve been at #1 in the ELO formula rankings for a little bit now and are on a 15 game winning streak. They might still have to win the ACC tournament to keep the 4 seed. A loss today and the actual committee might still place us 4 and Clemson 5.

Arkansas won the SEC title (LSU finished 3rd) and Arkansas beat LSU with LSU’s all American pitcher in the mound in the SECT.

100% Arkansas will be seeded ahead of LSU. As they should.

Sauces of course. Let’s face facts-At the moment we are not playing top tier baseball. We have two reliable starters, bullpen is suspect, defense is mediocre, base running is mid to bottom tier, bats are ice cold and many of our players have lost their mojo. We were propped up for at least the last few weeks we were #1, and that has proven true the last month.

Now tell me that my baseball IQ is less than zero and losing games is meaningless.

But the committee is making selections based on the complete body of work. They aren't basing them off of 3 weeks. Stack LSU up against whoever your "source" says is #6, and I guarantee you that it won't make one bit of sense for LSU to be listed behind whoever that is.

Lol! At least they should, time will tell. We’re a solid #6 at best.
