Not being political but tucker Carlson wrote a book about crossfire. Said they basically had to take a story and pick a side then debate without really caring about some of the stories.

A trap game is a game in which you overlook your current opponent in anticipation of a "more important/bigger game the next week". Auburn would not qualify as they are just outside of the top 10. MSU would qualify as they are the game after a huge win against FL, and the speculation is the team could be looking past MSU to Auburn.
I don't think it's possible this team looks past Miss St, or any SEC team. The only potential "trap game" they had was Utah St since they were OOC and Florida was the next game.
