It's definitely something with younger people nowadays. I know it was always a joke that service people never show up at your home when they say they will but the younger generation has let this philosophy bleed over into all aspects of life. I think it's due to selfishness and a lack of respect for others.

I was hanging out with a cool girl for a while a few months ago. Took her out to dinner a couple times, bought meals and drinks for a few of her friends, we spent one entire night and the next day together. Went to a bar after dinner and it was like she flipped a switch. Said her "anxiety spiked" at the end of dinner and that was the only explanation I really got. She told me a lot of nice things I already knew and told me I'd do fine. She was right.

Georgia grad, btw.

I ended the night last night making out with a cute woman 10 years younger than me Had a date Saturday with a cute vascular surgeon 6 years younger than me, and am meeting another girl tonight to take the dogs for a walk along the water who is an absolute smokeshow (9 years younger than me).

No excuse for lack of basic common decency. That said, she’s probably wild in the sack. The wack ones always are. Call her back. It’s just for fun, not for life.

She is non-confrontational to her detriment

Instead texting or calling to say she was too anxious or nervous or tired or scared to go out, she decided that the least confrontational route would be to ghost, to just avoid that conversation altogether and ignore texts and obilgations, ignore the immediate discomfort of disappointing you last minute and having to face it head on

Unusual that she would even text you the next day, but i am sure she spent much of the night of your date formulating her excuse, what she would say, and when she would say it. Even if what she said was not much

Sitting down to pee is a watershed (and water closet) decision.

“Normalizing” standing up? I don’t like the implications.

I can tell you as a single mid 40's guy that it is absolutely pointless to try to date in this age bracket now. Every average looking woman has had their egos inflated so much by social media that they're deserving of a millionaire soap opera actor or doctor that will spoil her and her 3 bastard children. They don't show up to see if you have anything in common with her, they show up to scrutinize your life to see if you're "good enough". I gave up trying to date - it was really just a waste of time, energy, and money. If I die alone, so be it - at least I'll have some peace and quiet.

Absolutely agree here. Like fishing in the sewer if you are looking for something serious.

I had a partner in an accounting firm show up an hour late to an interview. Dude was like 60 and was aghast when I told him no thanks.

It’s not just young people

Mingo is correct.. None of this happened. OP digging deeper with every lie

If OP had left out the nudes angle, it was entirely plausible. But, like many liars, he couldn't resist the embellishment.

It means that the person who you've been in contact with is not actually that person. It's either some morbidly obese woman or a dude who gets off on flirting with guys, often scheduling meet ups but never actually meeting up because it would blow up their whole charade. If they still try to continue to talk to you and flirt, then that's a pretty big giveaway. I assume you never face timed this person? How many pics have you seen of her? Maybe try a reverse google image search and see where that takes you.

Oh we FaceTime multiple times and her FaceTime matched with her pictures on FB and instagram.

Its super easy if you aren't on dating apps. Go to places where women are. Talk to them. Don't dress like a slob, be in decent shape, have a decent career, and have a personality. Its not rocket science. I think the main thing stopping most of you is you are 5'10 220 and think you "just need to lose 20 pounds". Almost anything is fixable these days. If I was overweight, broke, etc. I would work on getting those things fixed before I tried to start dating.

There are two options here:
1. You are full of shite (this is the correct option)
2. You arrived to a date multiple hours early

or the classic sent nudes to the wrong dudes.

You planned to take a girl who sent you nudes before ever meeting to dinner? This was always doomed. That’s a late night drink meeting at best.

I was just hoping for a one night stand but nothing serious. If women are going to have a roster then turn around is fair play.

Oh damn. Then that it pretty odd. May be a good thing that she didn't show. She sounds nuts.

You got there over an hour early? She sent you nudes after she decided she didn’t want to go on the date? This doesn’t add up

The last 1.5 years of dating this had happened to me twice. One girl an hour before said she was showing up and when I got there and waited and had no response, the next day said she fell asleep throughout the night. The other one very late responded with a head ache and didn't feel like going out.

To answer OP's question, can't really tell you exactly when it started but it really has been going on for a while. Probably since dating apps started getting popular I guess. At least from my experience, women in general can't even show the slightest bit of decency or communication which I assumed was a basic human action. It's just awful.

No I got there about 30 minutes early. She made the decision to not show up about an hour before. She then texted me nudes about 45 minutes after she decided to stand me up.

I’m still debating posting them. I am pretty sure she knows people who post here.
