The Daily Reveille says 1971 but it could be longer that that.

I believe it was written on one of those tablets Moses carried down from Mt Sinai, because God himself knows who belongs in hell.

I think it was ripped off from the "go to help Notre dame" cheer the same year.

I thought it was the 50’s when they flew a plane over the campus dropping fliers saying go to hell LSU

I was 6 in 1958 and got to go to some games. It was well established then.
Also, no matter who we were playing there was always a few moments of go to hell ole miss just to keep in practice.
4 or 5 years ago I went to see us play MSU in Starkville. When the game ended a go to hell ole miss chant went up from the ramps as everyone was exiting. Dogs and Tigers alike were chanting together. It was a real SEC kumbyah moment.

Not sure but one of my best memories was walking down the south end zone ramps after the 1972 game with EVERYONE yelling “Go to Hell Ole Miss, Go to Hell!”

Good friend of mine climbed the Maravich Center an painted Go To Hell Ole Miss. Archie was qb at Ole Miss then. He never got caught… God rest his soul… he’s not in this world anymore. 1971-1972. Not sure which year.

I was a freshman at LSU in 1970 and it was one of the first things I learned. Had been around a long time.

LSU journalism seems to be about as accurate as the MSM. Surely The Reveille should have done more due diligence. I can tell you the “Go to Hell Ole Miss” cheer predated the 70’s. I’can remember it back to the late ‘50’s for sure. If my dad were still alive he could tell me and he graduated in 1948. I wouldn’t doubt if it were around back then.

I remember well the “Archie Can’t Score with a Broken Bone” game of 1970 and that cheer was about the only cheer there was that night. Archie had beaten Us in 1968 and 1969 but not 1970. It was a great night and i don’t think I’ll ever forget any of those games 1968-1970.

It opened in ‘72 so unless it was during construction or later that year. That phrase has been around since the ‘50’s
