ESPN did this several years ago. I think we stacked up right behind UNC.

Can always fairly accurately guess the age of a poster reading these threads. A lot of recency bias.
Charles Alexander and Dalton Hilliard both>>>Addai
Casanova a starter at CB
Billy Cannon
TE’s covered by another response, neither of OP’s make the top 3 by going back a bit
Several LB’s fall off. Albert Richardson, Mike Anderson, George Bevan, Michael Brooks…

It’s really easy to put Burrow and Daniels in at QB, but Bert Jones was a really good professional QB whose game would stand up against anybody.

Don't have the time to look it up, but I'm pretty sure the all-time Michigan team waxes everyone.

Dalton Hilliard deserves more love here than he gets.
Just played on some rough teams in the 80s before being a really quality back for the Saints for a lot of years.

Not sure anyone other than maybe Bama or the Canes would come close to being better.
Football existed before 2000. Notre Dame and USC have the most Hall of Famers. Michigan is 3rd. that does not include a QB that I think will be inducted in 2028

They are 3rd in Hall of Famers and have an advantage at QB

Michael Brooks and Al Richardson are starting LBs
Billy Cannon is the starting RB (he is bigger, faster than everyone not named Fournette - it is close with him and Fournette in all measurable but his vision was 100X better)
Mike Anderson should be on there
Bert Jones for damn sure, especially todays game better arm talent than both of those listed
Jerry Stovall as a RB/DB - finished second in heisman - was robbed
Casanova is a starting free safety and there is t a would close to as talented as that guy at safety not named Mathieu

I'd put Chad Jones at Safety on this list.
and Michael Brooks is the best LB we have ever had, and that's saying a lot.

Notre Dame, off the top of my head, would do very well at the likes of QB (Joe Montana), RB (Jerome Bettis), TE (Dave Casper) OL, DL (Alan Page and Bryant Young) and Safety (Harrison Smith and Kyle Hamilton).
WR doesn't feel like a similar strength, though ND does have Tim Brown in the Hall of Fame.

Among the ND Hall of Famers is a guy named Wayne Millner who played for the Redskins in the 30s.-40s. He was on the all 30s decade team and is in the Redskins/WFT/Commanders ring of honor. His career stats look like a great season now 124-1578-12

Dave Duerson at Safety as well. Bobby Taylor and Todd Lycht at CB

So many people putting Reed on there lists, and while he is an all time great Tiger, he is not in the top 10 of LSU Wr’s at the NFL level
Posted on 12/31/24 at 9:57 am to Kingshakabooboo
You named 43 and left off a few obvious greats (Casanova, Whitworth for example)
We would definitely be one of the few to fill out a full 53 team roster with all great and at worst serviceable starters/backups

Casanova would be a safety in today’s game. Although he was fast as hell. He was just so big at corner. Go check out his stats in the NFL. Why he is on the stadium. He dwarfed the LSU DBs in a photo from circa 2010.
He was big, VERY FAST and would punish people when he hit them. There’s a reason why he made all pro and the pro bowl so many times in his six short seasons. He was absolutely an excellent football player. He also returned punts.

It's shame he got beat to hell playing for the Colts and he carried that team, serious arm talent.
