2007 - LSU vs. Va Tech (48-7)- Va Tech was ranked in the top 10 and LSU took them behind the woodshed from jump. Offense churned out nearly 600 yards and defense gave up less than 150.

or

2019- LSU vs Oklahoma (63-28) - An early 7-7 tie turned into an absolute beat down. LSU could have scored 100 if it wanted to. Offense gained nearly 700 yds

This first half and the Ole Miss first half that year were unlike anything I'd seen.

Conversely, in 2019, even though we beat the brakes off A&M, we actually left a ton of points on the table and if we had played just a little better might have scored 90.

Both classics. Can't forget the 2005 Peach Bowl either.

40-3. Out gained them 468 to 153. Held them to 5 first downs.

Last year’s bowl game performance against Purdue was pretty damn close to perfection.

Peach bowl vs Miami 40-3 with our backup QB was a good one too. Then kicked their arse in the tunnel after the game. I still think that 2005 team is a natty team if not for Katrina

They may have made it but USC and Texas were the best teams that year. Don’t think they would have beat either. I do think we would have beat USC in 03, though

People have already named some great ones.

2006 Arizona at home was one of the biggest arse kickings I can recall.

2011 season opener vs Oregon

For as bad of an offense we had, we dominated that game.

Spencer Ware & Michael Ford both ran for 96+ yds

Forced 4 turnovers

Oregon threw the ball 54 times for 240 yds

Maybe true. But that Ole Miss sucked and had basically mailed it in by that point. "Perfect" has to take into account the strength of the opponent IMO.

To that end, the 2007 Virginia Tech game and 2019 Oklahoma games are the closest to "perfect" I can remember. That Va Tech team came in #9 and it was 24-0 at the half. Tech never threated as LSU scored on its first two possessions. Tech went 10-1 the rest of the way before reaching the Orange Bowl. The "one" being a loss to (then) #2 BC. That was a good team and LSU beat them like they were Virginia Commonwealth, not Virginia Tech.

The Oklahoma game was a destruction. SEVEN TD passes...in the first half...vs. the #4 team in the country in a playoff game! You hear it said "this team could have scored 100" all the time. But that night it may have been true. To put things in perspective, LSU beat Virginia Tech 49-7 in 2007. It was 49-14 at halftime in 2019.

One (slight) disappointment was the Alabama game in 2019 was trending towards "perfect" in the first half. LSU had 8 possessions. They resulted in 4 TDs and 2 FGs. Alabama's offensive possessions were: Fumble, fumble, punt, punt return TD (that was crazily the result of a horrible facemask by LSU), stoned on 4th down, 64 yard TD pass (caused by the coaching staff getting Stingley to look to the sideline while the ball was snapped), punt, interception.

LSU's defense was actually playing great in the first half. You could see and feel the sheer astonishment in the stadium going into halftime because no one had manhandled Alabama like that in the Saban era.

The 2019 OK game was the most I ever felt I was watching an EA Sports NCAA PlayStation game being played live with humans before my eyes. Do not think I ever spent so much time in a game laughing at what I was seeing on the field and it not being to conceal the from rage of Les Miles doing something stupid.

The 2007 VA Tech and 2006 Zona games felt like pure old school football domination. Where the defense could literally put the other team all in an ambulance at will in that rowdy BR Saturday night.

Since most of the ones with very formidable opponents have been already mentioned I would say the 2012 game against the Washington Huskies is up there. They came out with an early 3-0 lead and LSU won the game 41-3. They finished 7-6 on the season and managed to take down 2 teams that were top 10 at the time on their schedule. So they were neither great but they weren't cellar dweller bad either.

ETA - Just started watching the replay and they only had the 3 points because Odell fumbled the opening kickoff. Defense completely shut them out.

I'll always fondly remember when we nuked ND back to the stone age when they came to the sugar bowl with Brady Quinn and Jeff Samardjizia.

That offense was not bad. Wasn’t always the prettiest but they were a perfect complement to the defense and outside of two games against Bama, who had one of the best defenses in the history of college football, the offense moved the ball and scored many points.

Check out the 1987 Gator Bowl if you can find it. South Carolina was top five in offense and defense going into this game. The LSU game plan on offense was to put one receiver, Wendell Davis out on passes, and keep everyone else in to block against the SC ferocious pass rush. It worked. Davis made the CB assigned to him on each play look silly, and Hodson and Davis were the stars of the game. The game plan was brilliant, and it actually made me believe that Mike Archer would be a great coach.
