Well since they count sacks as rushing att in cfb 100 is not a lot 5-8 per game

Well JD would have well over 200 if not for being injured for comparison

Whatever type QB that best suits the team chemistry.

It amazes me that this simple fact can not be understood by ranters.

Oh wait, I take that back. Excuse my disrespect ranters.

"BK prefers to have a dual threat QB, trading off some passing for more mobility".

Did you not see BK early in the year yelling at JD about to pull his hair out because he wouldn't throw the ball. He constantly yelled at JD during the games. BK definitely wants to pass down field!! He likes JD because he believes with his dynamic running ability it helps adds another dimension to the offense because he can also make plays with his feet. I think BK believed he could coach JD in the passing. He has gotten better at times, but we shall see soon enough.

Jayden led the team (including all RB's) in rushing stats. Walker Howard isnt going to do that.

Part of the reason Walker Howard wouldn't do that is because if he was the QB, we wouldn't be running the Jayden Daniels offense anymore.

We needed a rushing threat at QB this year because coming into the year we had absolutely no offensive line to speak of--so a "traditional" run game just wasn't going to work; we needed the QB to create the numbers advantage.

But starting next year, OL is going to be a legitimate STRENGTH of this team. We WILL be able to run the ball without QB misdirection. It wont (or shouldnt) be the Jayden Daniels offense again next year. (though, if he is the starting QB, that's what it'll be, because that's what he makes it).

BK never had as an elusive a runner as Daniels.

So it's kind of hard to gauge

He was alluding to Daniels not being a dual threat, because he doesn’t really pass. Not saying I agree or disagree, but that was his point. Not that Howard is a better runner. Just that Howard does both.

Our offense this year didnt really have an identity, but from what I could see... BK prefers to have a dual threat QB, trading off some passing for more mobility.

I respectfully disagree with this. BK repeatedly voiced his frustration with JD not pushing the ball downfield. He also just loaded the WR room with more talent than we have ever have had. He also has said, including today, about having to be able to take the top off the defense. I dont think that sounds like a dual threat scheme to me.

Kelly is no dummy and probably has JB9 video on loop in his office. He gave Nuss a lot of praise after the UGA game and maybe its nothing but I am waiting to see what happens in the bowl game… could be telling.

I’d love to see JD step up in his passing game this offseason. Time will tell.

Keep wishing. Obviously we all wish that for the young man but he is who he is.

Did those 3 have more rushing than their running backs? I honestly don’t know the answer.

Those 3 also were damn good passers who weren’t afraid to take shots.

And I literally said that I’d love to see JD improve in his passing in my original post

His ND teams would indicate a pocket passer that can escape trouble. A Nuss or Howard type
Walker runs better than folks think

BK recruited Walker to Notre Dame. I think Walker is his style of QB
