Our offense this year didnt really have an identity, but from what I could see... BK prefers to have a dual threat QB, trading off some passing for more mobility.

If this is the direction that BK wants to go, why wouldn't Walker Howard look elsewhere. It makes sense if WH can't do what BK wants to do. He is more of a passer than a runner. (Not to say he can't run, but he isnt Jayden Daniels or Malik Zaire)

Because Walker is an actual dual threat QB.

Know what you’re talking about before posting. Walker is very elusive

WH will do the same

Jayden led the team (including all RB's) in rushing stats. Walker Howard isnt going to do that.

Look at his ND and CMU years for what Kelly prefers at QB

Never said he could do that. I would prefer the QB not have more rushing yards than our RBs personally.

I’d love to see JD step up in his passing game this offseason. Time will tell.

Good lord it’s going to be a long offseason.

Kelly went with the guy best prepared to win games this year. That guy happened to be an elite runner (as far as QBs go), so we let him run a lot. But some of y’all act like we didn’t pass at all.

In reality, we had the 3rd most pass attempts per game and 2nd most completions per game in the SEC. The only team that attempted considerably more passes was Mississippi State.

I see people saying he’s afraid to throw the ball when he throws as much as anyone else in our league. I see people saying he’s inaccurate when he completes as many of his passes as anyone else in our league. I see half of his detractors saying he checks down too much, while the other half day he doesn’t go through his progressions.

I don’t think he’s going to win a Heisman and become a 15 year NFL franchise guy. He has flaws. He seems to struggle with the deep ball (I question whether this is arm strength or something else considering how much heat I’ve seen him put on intermediate throws, but I digress). While he has been great at protecting the football, we would all like to see him take more chances and challenge the middle of the field.

But it’s absolutely ridiculous that people view him as some kind of wildcat player who can’t throw. The kid is, overall, an above-average SEC QB.

So my larger point is: Kelly went with the guy that he felt put us in the best position to win this year. That’s all.

JD was the best option 100% with all of the OLine question marks. Yes he did great things for us. But he is in fact scared to throw the ball in reality unless our guys are WIDE arse OPEN. The fact that Kelly was literally forcing him not to run during the UAB game should tell you all you need to know. He is not a confident passer

No he doesn’t. That was his preference this year because he knew that our line would be inconsistent and downright bad at times.

Nor do we want our QB to, IMO

A better running game is a must

I love how people act like it’s bad to have a qb run for 800 yards. All yards count the same

our line was bad for like the 1st 3 games. What about after that changed?
